This song though.. written so many years ago and yet the most relevant it ever was for the people who live in Florida. I wrote a paper on this song for my environmental science class in college and got !00% and turned my professor onto his music. Big thanks to JJ Grey and his love and commitment to the land and people of the great state of Florida.
They destroyed my lochloosa here in Pennsylvania. The Damn developers are destroying what used to be an agricultural town. There was a small airport ( Perkiomen Valley Airport) and it was my lochloosa. It wasn't just an airport there was a wildlife refuge and we had parties there. The two main things about the place were sunrise/sunset .. and when I was a kid .. my Dad let me fly his plane and I learn the basics of flying. A place was beautiful and they just destroyed it, it is now going to be 58 shity mansions
Same here in northern Virginia, what i knew is gone, no farms, no cattle, no forest, the dairy's, the history of all the peoples but buried under development for tax revenue.
I saw JJ and Mofro for the first time back about 5 years ago..lol I cried for at least 50% of the show.... lmao 🤣 I'm 6'4" craftsman...crying like a child. Been my favorite ever since. Florida...my Home away from Home 🎉
I was listening to this for the first time the other night when I got the news that I was a Grandma again, number 6 but what music to hear at a time like that... It will now, forever, stay in my mind... And my heart
I fuckin needed this.... Perfect..... Tore up Gainesville in the late 60s... Met Tom Petty when he was 15 in the Krystal's across from Gator Central...
I want to see them get allllll the credit they deserve for their talent. They are the band that my partner and I fell in love to in Charleston 2 1/2 years ago. Thank you for being incredible and sharing your talent with the world.
Central New York State here, so when I drive to Florida I pass through Lockloosa Fl. Yeah I can feel it. We all have that place where we feel at home. Just a great song and this man is a great talent.
🎉 I've loved him for as long as I can remember first time I ever seen the river that's all it took this man sings for the soul and he ain't thinking nothing and I'm 68 years old and I'm more seen next month Love you JJ Gray welcome mother
