@GenkiDama08 in truth, journalists hated Jacob because he's a boy and they wanted a big win for feminism with evie. So they simply slander Jacob and promote evie. Fans read these takes, and see the same takes on now confirmed bribed youtube channels, and there you go. Suddenly fans are copying the false narrative that's anti Jacob. Due to Jacob being rhe primary protagonist of the story, who players play as for over two thirds of the story, and who the open world and all it's activities are built for, the constant slander against Jacob, makes the game feel unwelcoming. Meanwhile, people normally don't want to invest in evie as a character because she doesn't suit the unique stuff this game offers, she's very 2 dimensional and as a result boring to most people, and she only has one third of the story. Evie is clearly a side character. So she's not worth investing in for a potential fan. Ultimately the slander against Jacob, and poor efforts of pushing evie into a "twin protagonist" role that she's fundamentally not able to efficiently fit, has given syndicate a bad reputation.
As fellow Brit, I absolutely love AC Syndicate. Driving carriage like a bloody maniac and using grappling hook which makes more easier for the parkour. You get two Assassin's. Jacob and Evie Frye (with the help of Mr Henry Green, only 3 Assassin's in London) People are simping too much Baguettes and Croissants from Unity. (Theres a bunch of Assassin's around Paris and not of them are helping you in your sub missions)
Talk about forgetting Jacob is the main protagonist of this game. Evie only has 11 levels, yet these guys make it look like Jacob's the one who's only got 11 levels. What a joke and a betrayel of the reality of the game. We hardcore syndicate fans are so disenfranchised in the online space now, and I've grown to hate evie.
@@caesarg4711 I'm what some might call "a fan." So I care and this does matter to me. I know evie is only liked by those who don't care and aren't true fans, but surely you can just move past a comment you don't like? Or do these pixels have bearing over your life, after all?
@@caesarg4711 who cares about her gender? Are you threatened by a fictional male character? And they aren't duel protagonists when Jacob is the central main character of the narrative and he's got over two thirds of the main story. Evie is only playable for 11 levels, bless the little side character.
@@caesarg4711 Jacob is the primary protagonist. He's not a duel protagonist. Evie only has 11 levels, and Jacob had 24 levels. Jacob is also the canon choice when you get to choose who to play as, and the main narrative revolves around him. Also, who said anything about being threatened by a female or male fictional character? What odd projection.
@@shrishdhuria they are both canonically in the story, but Jacob is the canonical choice when you get to choose who to play as. You see most of the story is set without choice and Jacob is always the main character of the main story. He has 24 levels and evie only has 11 levels. But in side missions the game allows you to choose who to play as. Roth specifically states that Jacob alone has been the one defeating the templars and conquering the city. Roth invites Jacob to dinner because Jacob was seen taking down the gang leaders. Jacob later confirms this by saying he personally had been picking off Roth's gang leaders one by one. This confirms these levels are meant for Jacob in the story. When you unlock those levels, the game also features Jacob's level icon, implying Jacob as the intended character once more. Jacob has to be the character you play as when creating the rooks, as he's the gang leader credited with making the gang in the story. So once again evie is the incorrect choice for those levels. The level called "cable news" is also canonically Jacob. It's the introduction to "soothing syrup" which is the poison Jacob chases throughout sequence 4. The level even has Jacob on it's description, not evie. I could go on, but I'll highlight something from the ending instead. Jacob and evie argue over the fact Jacob has been doing everything to stop the templars, grow the gang, and defeat gang leaders. This is all of the games content apart from evie's specific story levels. Evie then replies saying that Jacob shouldn't have done those things, and instead should've only chased the shroud as evie had done. This also confirms that evie is only canon for her story levels. She literally says that doing anything else is wrong. And Jacob literally says she didn't help him with anything else. So yeah, Jacob is the canon choice.
I love Syndicate. It's one of my favorite AC games. This has made me want to jump back in and cause more carriage chaos.
Syndicate was unironically a great game, it didnt deserve the hate tbh

@@christophermichaelclarence6003 the simping problem is far worse with evie. She's hardly as good as Arno or Jacob. But that's my opinion.
Love these scavenger hunt videos!
Was just thinking about going back to it again as well. Good timing.
I'm surprised that Ellen didn't mention that Big Ben is the bell, not the clock tower
She does at the end. They cut her off

Oh this looks really fun also loved the Sonic London challenge from last year so if this is anything like that this'll be a real treat of a watch ⚔️📸
Say what you will about Assassin's creed games, but their recreations of real world places and landmarks are incredible.
There was a time I loved to imagine my little town in a video game...
My favourite AC tbh
It must great when you live where the games based
You guys should do a Watch Dogs Legion scavenger hunt next year
Kool! 🎉 Didn't know there was one 😂
Aw, you ran out of time before you got to the underground vault that had the Shroud of Eden in it.
Great video. Great game. If only there were some facts about bells included, it would be perfect.
You're in luck! There's not just Ellen grade facts about bells, there's Andy grade facts *as well!*
