Here in Chicago, there is a guy named Buzz Killman, a radio news guy that also plays blues on the weekends. This was his intro song for many years. Sadly, local radio is dead.
Our radio station in Michigan, Z-93 called it the Friday song also. They played it every Friday at 5:00 in the 90’s. When I was in High School it really was a staple that the weekend has officially begun. Seems like most of the time when it played we were in the middle of looking for a buyer.
We knew it as the Friday song in Detroit, every Friday right as rain WRIF played it! I've done my best to pass it on to younger players who are MUCH BETTER than I.
One of my favorite feel good songs, the first time I heard it was only about a year ago! Don't know how I missed out on it, I remember Sunshine very well (coincidentally it's the next track on the album).
How does someone give this a thumbs down? Opinions are like a$$holes; everybody's got one, I suppose but....come on, man! This is choice!!! Thanks for the song and the smile, JE!
My very best favorite song. Us intellectual hippies always bonded with your song.
