    This explains why any work in the dash area is usually a bastard.
    They don't fit any of this with repairs in mind.

      lol that is exactly what i was thinking watching them assemble the buttons for the various pieces, i am looking at replacing the USB/Aux port on a 2015 kia optima and holy hell... it's only like a little 1 inch by 2 inch $40-60 dollar piece but you literally need to take the ENTIRE freaking dash board/shifter area apart to get access to that spot... and there's like no good guides online they REALLY want you to bring it to a dealership and pay $400+ in labor for a freaking USB/Aux port lol

    This is just the assembly line. I wanna know how all those parts were made before it was being assembled. like how they measure all those wires, how they cast those panel boards, how they created the instruments and all electronics.

      the instrument panel is kind of boring it's a pcb board with small motors for the pointers which are just pressed on after the dial plate is put on with hidden tabs and glue it's blown free of any dust checked for scratches and the clear plastic is snapped in place then run through testing and inspected for miss prints on the symbols packed up and shipped out did it for 7 years

    The car shown here is an Aston Martin Rapide and it's Satnav system is really old (i think thats why you can hide it - to hide away the ugly outdated tech) and it is suprising that a luxury sports sedan has so much plastic in areas you often sew

    The title for most of these videos should be how something is assembled. How it’s made starts with the science and engineering, then manufacturing, and finally the assembly is the last stage. I was looking at that airbag module thinking so much has gone into making that.

    • @sterlingodeaghaidh5086
      @sterlingodeaghaidh5086 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the interest in simplicity, the term "made" infers to assembly, design, and more. I know its a small thing to point out but I see too many people say this. Also, they did a video on Airbags too.

      @@iteerrex8166 Ya, I understand that, its a common thing to generalize commonly spoken words, that's why you drive a train even tho it controls nothing like a car.
      Making something just means you bring it into existence, you can be specific with the terms like Assembling, Moulding, etc... but Making is rather general.

    Not really "Making a dasboard". This is just bolting a load of impossibly complicated pre-fabricated electronic modules together.
    Car firms hardly make anything nowadays, they just assemble component manufacturers' products.in the 1970s, I went round Aston Martin's factory. They made a lot. Of course they had to buy in carburettors, fuel pumps, speedometers, brake callipers but they made the entire body and chassis, the entire engine and most of the suspension. Everyone of them were superb craftsmen. Nowadays, they are beholden to computers and component manufacturers for almost everything. When Henry Royce made his first car, almost every single component (including generator, fuel pump, brakes etc, we're all made in-house. That's how you maintain quality
