- Got an SE Silver Sky I've had for about six months! These are fantastic guitars and I wanted to share my experiences with it so far!

Really enjoying your channel - its fun watching some others who break out two years salary worth of cool vintage gear but ya know most of us, whether hobbiest, weekend warriors or aspiring up and comers your content makes a ton of sense and is a lot more relatable. If I hadn’t gotten a used Hwy 1 strat about 5 months before these SEs were released I’d have one for sure. I’ve handled a few and they really are terrific guitars top to bottom.
Love the sounds you are getting out of yours. I’ve had an SE Silver Sky for about 4 months now and can’t put it down. Have several other guitars worth way more than the SE that I will be listing soon! Loving the show! Keep it up!

I have a silver sky on order. Videos like yours helped me decide to pull the trigger. I own five Squier Strats. For the cost of a Silver Sky I can buy four Squier Sonic Strats or two Squier 40th Anniversary Strats. I’m hoping that even though I love my Squiers, the PRS will become my number one electric guitar.

Unfortunately the SE Silver Sky had fret sprout worse than any guitar I ever owned. It was a “Demo” from Sweetwater which means it was likely a “Return”. I would bet it was returned before I got it because of the fret sprout. The discounted price made it worth it for me to spend an hour fixing the fret ends. Other than that problem everything else was fine. If I had picked it up in a guitar shop I would have hung it back up on the wall. I realize that fret sprout can happen on any guitar but I didn’t expect it on a PRS SE Silver Sky.
Nice walk through thanks, had mine almost a year now, and coming from an acoustic background I reckon PRS has created a modern classic with the SE SilverSky, I play this more than my acoustics now :-)

Sorry I meant to ask, I like to the Rosewood neck but have you tried the maple fret board & do you expect any significant sound difference?
Hey y’all , if you want to jam along with the am and f Tim is playing, he has his guitar tuned flat instead of standard tuning, if you wonder why doesn’t sound the same.
Had my bass in hand when I found the video and played along.
Have the same model and color. Bought it used. Last guy put PRS Core Locking Tuners and the Narrow Truss Rod cover like the Maryland model. Looks and plays like a core now. I like the ODR-1. Don’t have one but makes your tone nice in this video

Great review. I had a USA Silver Sky and sold it because I felt my Fender 61 Wildwood 10 Strat was more classic. It is. But I miss the Silver Sky neck and how the guitar felt overall. There was something that just felt so right. After watching this, I may just spring for a SS SE to get that magic feeling neck back.
The thing I like the most is the kind of fatty neck it has, the tone is good too, but it hasn't convinced me when I tried it. But this video is just the best tone I've heard from an SE silver sky, it's great! it maybe has to do with that Suhr bella? How have your experiences been with this guitar played in other amps?

I agree, I normally not a bigger neck guy, but these feel so dang good! I love the bella but the guitar has been great through any amps I’ve put it through. Running it through an HDRX 20 tonight and it’s great. Totally recommend the guitar! Thank you for the watch and the nice comment, there’s more to come!

He Tim.. Nice chops you have a good feel, I would be interested in hearing some of your originals.. I am leaning more towards a Silver Sky but as far as the color I like the gray with a maple neck or a Dragon fruit with the Rosewood fretboard maple neck..I am currently saving up for the Silver Sky.. I was really interested in the Sire brand Strat but you can’t get your hands on one to try out they are on back order and no one around in my area carries them., I went to a close music store and tried the Silver Sky and was like “ I need one”. Thanks for doing your review it was honest and like I said nice chops.. God bless

Good stuff, Cool playing and refreshing video, hey have you ever come across a Mario Martin guitar,I’m looking for a Stratocaster hard tail bridge , they build them somewhere near Nashville or Murpheeboro I think. I’m about 350 miles south of there. I heard they where making some extra light weight strats at one time and I’m looking for a fixed bridge light weight strat.
Sounds great, I am a telly guy mostly. The reason there are so many is each player might like one better than the other.

So you have an interface for the guitar then you put the video together with wav from a daw?
I bought one a couple of months ago. It plays, sounds and looks killer but the pots and switch are super cheep. I tried to change those cheep knobs and one of posts pulled right out of the pot. Now I have to wiggle the switch in the neck position to get it to work. Zzounds sent me a new pot.
