    Great video Jonathan.... one mistake is that the clips that you used to pull down the glass lid on the g30 is only meant for the copper distillation lid, obviously no pressure should be put on the glass lid.

      Cheers for the feedback, i had been using it to ensure it held the counter flow chiller firmly in place when sitting on top of the glass , everyday is a school day and all that

    Correction needed at 6 mins 16 seconds: the red tube is the wort coming out into the fermenter.
    The red tube the the hot water waste drain as the wort comes out the clear tube at the other end of the counter flow chiller.
    Great video, every bit as good as your products and your customer service!

    Loved your tour of the Guinness brewery in Dublin. Quick question, is the Brewmonk and Hopcat basically the same equipment?

      No the HC is made in another factory and wouldn’t have the same support or quality from what we have experienced

    I have the Grainfather G30 I too had issues with the lower gasket seal. What I do now is put the malt pipe on then the gasket and roll the gasket end in your crushed grains and it slides right in.

    Good video. As a Grainfather user I would point out (as many other users have pointed out elsewhere) that the filter is dreadful - it can't even cope with hop pellets. I have distorted (domed) a Brewzilla false bottom to fit, as it is an infinitely better solution. As you point out, the silicone rubber seals are fiddly to fit - a massive understatement! - the rolled edges of the other systems are what GF should have introduced long ago. However, the GF counterflow chiller is really good (and a VB has pointed out the red pipe is the hot water outlet, and nothing to do with the wort).

    Purchased the Brewster beacon 40 from yourself a while ago . Great piece of kit love brewing with it , sight glass is a great addition
    Only have 2 issues with this unit firstly during the boil the bottom filter lifts from the base because of bubbling and when settles has already let some left over grains touch the base which either scorch or lodge themselves in the pump hole
    Secondly the sight glass is hard to see due to the bright chrome but a sheet of paper placed behind the glass sorts that issue
    Other than this I am delighted with it and for the price it’s a no brainer buying one of these units
    Would Definately consider ghetto
    70 in the future
    Cheers

    One good upgrade is to replace the GF screw on connector with camlock connectors.

    Thank you for this awesome video. When are you planning to make the brewster brew video? :)

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's on the list to work through i'm reluctant to give an exact time incase it doesn't happen on that timescale but definitely in the next few months

    This review says that the Grainfather does not have a telescopic pipe which mine does have although it is 4 years old. Have they stopped doing this or is the review wrong? I have been delighted with my Grainfather, a great piece of kit

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new model isn't telescopic in the same way as the BM or BB, great to hear you're another happy GF user, we do sell a lot of them and it's always nice to hear , hope you have a great weekend

    Super video Jonny! I’ve done some all grain stove top brewing before and want to get back into it with slightly bigger volumes… would you recommend going straight to an all in one, or go for one of the peco kits?

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If budget isn't an issue i'd go straight for the all in brewing system with a ferminator to maintain temperature control

  • @veesto69
    @veesto69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you buy the counter flow chiller separate to use on another system like the brewmonk?

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We can supply the counter flow as a separate option but i haven't personally tried it with another system, but technically i can't see any reason why it wouldn't work
