Konkeydorf is a great player and fully deserved the win, and I have a lot of respect for him as a player. Ganondorf is underrated in my opinion. I usually main him and while I don’t have online I always beat the crap out of the level 9 CPUs in the game with ganondorf. He’s so strong that even in just a few hits he can get you high enough to kill. I’m pretty sure only have to use ganondorfs combo like three times and land a smash attack and your dead. Although I only fight CPUs most of the time I’m still pretty confident in my ganondorf because every time my friend comes over who has played smash for years I destroy him. And he’s not bad either like he’s actually pretty good. And it’s hard to say that ganondorf is the worst character because for a character to be that good to be the worst means every character in the game is absolutely broken.
Anyone who can take a Ganondorf to this level of a competition, in a game that horribly punishes heavies and rewards projectiles and juggling, deserves mad respect. Absolutely disgusting display from the commentators, never let them near a mic again.
Somewhere in the TH-cam comments, I have read what most probably applies here: Ganondorf is a fundamentals check. If your fundamentals are good, he can't do jack to you. But if you slip and let him punish you, he'll punish you **hard**.
theres no objective tier list and it doesnt define the outcome of a match, joker isnt that explosive without arsene and ganon can feel overwhelming ig if he reads u, the joker was pretty good but he needed to push advantage and combo more to keep up
@@Alche_mist it was more abt an execution check, his fundamentals were pretty good, but against heavies u gotta have ur combos down to keep up, he kept messing up, joker is high maintenance so its understandable i guess..
you can have all the fundies you want but if if you play for stray hits against a character who just does that better than you its not gonna work. gummy needed to capitalise on hits more and frame trap air dodges. If you try to zone ganon he will try to use wizard kick to zone break, be ready for it.

The tier lists are mostly only relevant for the highest level of play, which this commentator doesn't understand. These are good players but not pros, so generally the better player is going to win.
If you have to remind someone that they are vs the worse char in the game, maybe it's not the worse char in the game. Sheik and Joker are honestly C and B tier only with AI will they be S but people see possible best char and boost with the hope someone can get there. Ganon objectively stomps most C tiers. Only with Bs do they actually stand a real chance.
This goes to show, even a professional level Ganondorf is gonna take quite a few hits before he gets his window of opportunity to dish out. Its is all about patience and defense until its his moment to strike.
I have Smash Ultimate, it's great. and I don't know much about it, but isn't putting Joker from Persona vs. Ganondorf kind of like putting Muhammad Ali vs. a toaster oven? as I recall Joker is maybe the second-best character in the game, numerically-speaking. and Ganondorf I am sure was one of the lowest. mad props to Konkey, here. that's awesome.

I train a lot with Gummy and I knew he would watch this vod back. I have nothing against Konkeydorf, he's a fantastic player and went on to get 5th this tourney. Sorry if my commentary was distracting.
I didn't think so at all-- Konkey is fairly well known, ranked player level, it makes sense to commentate how the underdog can play to upset the better player. I really enjoyed the commentary and the "how to approach the Ganon mu" tips 👍
