That is useful. Specifically I appreciate hearing which foot needs to move! Thanks!

Looks good. Thats the way I learned back in 1981. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. The other person commented that it was completely wrong - I have the books and I attend the seminars where we all do it the same, so my instructor got it right and so did his instructor!

Are there variations of this form that use a reverse punch in place of the uppercut

I don't believe there are variations of this specific Pal-gwe form that uses a reverse punch, however, I know there are Japanese Katas that have a very similar sequence of techniques that includes a punch or grab in place of the uppercut. In some forms they reach out to grab and pull into a punch, in others they remove the uppercut and the chop that you see in this video and do the double block followed by a lead leg punch.
      I hope this helps.

@@lionskarate6442 always interesting to see variations. My school does Palgwe 4 very closely to what you just did. But I've definitely seen a lot of variations in looking for some help. Even our school has some small changes here and there throughout the Palgwe forms. Nothing crazy or detrimental. But it is interesting to see when a form has a specific difference.

Yes, I know how they do them by the book, but I also want to teach how my instructor taught me. So we know multiple ways for some forms.

Sorry that you disagree. It is slightly different than the Kukkiwon, but I know how to do it both ways. This is how it was taught to me by my instructor, who was taught by his instructor from Korea.
