Story time about the DOD KING: I met him at the Good Good Midwest open event in Indiana this summer. Maybe 30 minutes before he went off he walked past us and I asked him if he could take a picture with my kids. He was one of the nicest and (to my surprise) humble people I’ve ever met. He signed everything they asked him to and talked to them about how important self belief is. He was so genuine. He then proceeded to talk to me for 5 straight minutes about Virginia and how proud he is to come from there. I asked him if he felt nervous and he said and I quote “of course I am, but I live for these moments. It does something to me” I have never seen a human being’s eyes switch like they did when Carter got on that first tee box. Absolute chills. I watched his first hole he must’ve hit his DOD over 330 yards, then he HIT THE PIN on his approach and drained the birdie. He did his leg slap celebration and walked off. I’ve never seen such beautiful crowd control from a competitor. This kid has something extraordinarily unique about him and I’ll forever be watching his journey. Give em hell kid.

This is great. I was born in that area and been to that course many of times.....my father did radio play by play for Chowan College basketball and fb for years. Cool that yall went to little ole Ahoskie area (not far from VB area).....That area of eastern NC probaly claims more to tidewater area than likely even Greenville area of NC.
