This video was so helpful for me. I have to rebuild my whole subfloor due to water damage. Make more of these helpful videos, please. Thanks from Cape Town, South Africa!
Thank you so much for the great feedback, Jannes. It means the world to us that people are finding our content helpful - and, indeed, that we can have an impact thousands of miles away. That's just brilliant 👍 We genuinely appreciate you watching our video and we sincerely hope that you can get your floor fixed soon. More videos on the way 😀
Great video. We've got a shallow (2 brick high) suspended floor, over a concrete slab. So 255mm between concrete and floor board. 4x2 joists, so not a huge amount of space to insulate. Reckon it's easier to just pull out the joists and in-fill, like you say you're doing in the video? And I don't suppose you recorded yourself doing that very thing in this house did you? Cheers for the quality vid
Thanks for sharing this, based in South Africa and our winters are quite cold, especially when you have a pool too.... Please share some advise on how I can fill up the space below my suspended floor, my floors are in mint condition but the cold really makes it unpleasant in winter....
Hi Darren. The best thing to do would be to insulate between the floor joists 👍 Thanks for watching our video and for your question - much appreciated.
Bro, I am a university student from Hong Kong , somehow your video save my ass. My teacher only give me supper complicated design drawings. Huge thks!! Btw I have a little suggestion, maybe your can use a tripod to hold the camera in one position as constant moving of camera make me a little bit dizzy. Anyway keep making gd videos🫵
We have a Suspended Floor we had some insulation done below the floor board(between the joist). We are planning a UFH.. (Overlay with screed).. do we need a DPM above the Floor Board?
That's a great question, the best point of call would be to get in contact via our website and we will be able to answer this better and give you more advice. - hypebuilding.co.uk/contact/

Hi there. Thank you for watching and for your question. You can't use timber for this process as it may rot and, therefore, jeopardise the integrity of the building.

What did you build the brickwork on? Concrete footings?
Do you have to have brick footings or can it be done with timber?
