Every time your ruler slips when you are rotary cutting, you not only waste fabric, but you could also cut yourself.
These three tips are how I've learned how to cut so the ruler doesn't slip, even without grippy dots. And to tell you the truth I only recently got grippy dots and only have them on one of my rulers. I'm still not sure I like them! It just seems harder to line up my ruler with them there!

Thanks! I also just learned that putting 3M Nexcare flexible clear tape on the bottom of the ruler can work better than grippy dots.
Thank you for that tip! I will put that on my list to try - I have on my list a video about cutting one handed, so that may be extremely useful for that!
Thanks :-) Further research shows that lots of places (e.g. Walmart, CVS, etc.) have similar clear bandage tape with slight ridges that holds the fabric well and comes off easily if you want to remove it. Keep up the good work!
@@bluraven216 well that's useful to know - I don't like sticky stuff left over :). Thank you!
Thank you so much for that tip I appreciate it
So glad to help 🙂
Great information, this should help me!!
Every quilt!
Let me know if this helps!
Excellent info. I can’t push down due to arthritis so I use weights
How much weight/what kind of weights do you find work best?
