@@AftabAlam-uf8iz it's 30% hydrogen peroxide mixed with dish soap. H202. Then you can use potassium iodide as a catylist to speed up the release of the extra oxygen molecule to create H20. If you can't get that, mixing yeast with warm water will create a catylist instead. You'd need to order 30%h202 because it's stronger than the stuff you buy from pharmacy
I met this guy at school today. My principal put it all together and he came to my school which is Barton academy graded school and he had a presentation in form of the entire school and we got to help him with it. It was awesome we blew stuff up.😂😂
Aye thanks for liking my comment and putting on a really fun presentation. It was fun and cool to see that, when I heard after we were done testing that bob the science guy was coming to our little small town school I was so excited.❤️❤️
Don't judge me but I brought a bag of these materials to school and put them in the bathroom. During first period I asked if I could go to the restroom and I pulled this off😂 I doubled the recipe and it was flowing out the door for the entire bathroom. The next day the principal gave us all a lecture about what happened and how it was "unacceptable" behavior and he said that if anybody knew anything to say something. It's been about a months since that day and I'm pretty much in the clear😂
Binit Konwqr 1) put washing up liquid in container 2) put ~30% hydrogen peroxide in container and mix (you have to have a licence to buy this strength peroxide so it's unlikely op did what he said, you can buy weaker peroxide but it won't work anywhere near as good (3% peroxide was used on cuts, and ~10% is used to bleach hair) 3) the end solution they add is a catalyst - in this case it's sodium iodide (he says sodium solution so unless you know the reaction you wouldn't have been able to know this), you can also use other catalysts such as potassium iodide and manganese (IV) oxide. I'm not sure if you can buy these chemicals without a license but I wouldn't have thought so The amount of reactants you add obviously dictates how large a scale it will be, doing it in an Erlenmeyer flask (conical flask) will give more 'bang' as it bottlenecks toward the top but it can be done in any container. If you want to know more just Google elephants toothpaste as it is commonly known, you might be able to find out how to do it with household products (you probably can but it won't be as impressive as this)
Alexis :DDD hydrogen peroxide is NOT water!!!! it is H2O2, Just because it has H2O in it does NOT make it water! The addition of the oxygen atom to the molecule makes it a very toxic substance
Can you just tell me what did you put exactly and did you put catalyst or no . and can you please write for me like an small essay about what exactly happens in this reaction to write it on my science fair Thanks so much :D
If a man (or a woman) is standing on top of a bus and the bus is speeding. If that woman decides to jump she will fall off as the bus speeds. But if she is inside the bus and she jumps, and the bus is moving WHAT WILL HAPPEN? 1) The woman will land where she jumped from at the same spot? 2) She will be pulled behind as she is floating in the air and land many steps in the back because the bus is driving?
easy she lands at the spot where she jumped becouse she has the same speed as the bus and no air friction is going on inside the bus so she will not move same principle with earth if 1 would be true every time you jump on a flatt area then you would be 100drets of kilometers off every time. ;D

What else can we use instead of potassium iodide?
Thank you 😊
@@blessedone8723 we can also use manganese dioxide
It's steam. The reaction creates a lot of heat - it's exothermic!
what are the materials that u have applied
oh

@@micahroberts3564 No need to order the h2o2...just go to your local hair dresser and pick up a bottle.
😀 yaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Can you please list all the exact ingredients and measurements? we thought we'd do this for a science fair.
I won my science fair doing this
Awesome!

What is the catalyst used
What is the sodium solution used for the catalyst?
I feel like I am the only person who is here from 2020?😂
me after you. I'm going to do this for my students
Hello : )
I’m also here
I’m here
Nope
Oh Man, Science Bob still young
Can you please share the ingredients/amounts/concentrations? I would love to do this experiment with the kids at school... Thanks
bob is the best
I love your experiments they are so
interesting

I love your experiments you are amazing science bob
When you have coffee at a gas station
This is why I love science
Should sodium iodide be liquid or powder?
Will it work with pottasium permanganate as the catalyst?
how do we prepare the sodium solution
We made that at school! We only need Diswashing liquid, a container, food coloring, hydrogen peroxide. I think it includes or excludes water.
Well, hydrogen peroxide is water, but not the normal ones you buy at the store
Alexis :DDD hydrogen peroxide is NOT water!!!! it is H2O2, Just because it has H2O in it does NOT make it water! The addition of the oxygen atom to the molecule makes it a very toxic substance

Such a violent reaction that you almost expect to hear a weird sound when it's done!
Wow, this is amazing!
amazing science bob seems nice person
awesome❤
This is how you make a really cool exploding Volcano for a science project!!
Just a tip in case you didn't already make the connection. ;)
what sodium solution did u use?
Abubakar Muhammad sodium iodide would be my best guess
MMorgattto Yep, Sodium Iodide it was!
ScienceBob hehe are you the real sciencebob? prove it! what is the avogadro constant?
MMorgattto That would be: 6.02214129 × 1023 mol-1
ScienceBob i would have accepted 6.022x10^23. and nice videos congratulations
Can we use yeast instead of sodium solution?
Could you please tell me what size Erlenmeyer Flash you are using? Thank you!
Deborah Shrum That's a 5,000 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
We're gonna need another Jimmy.
if you're gonna do it with hydrogen peroxide, how much will be the concentration in order to blow the bubbles off like this one?
30%
Can someone give the exact concentrations of all the reagents used in this experiment? Pleaseeee.. Thankyouuu
what is the activator

wow elephant must be happy
We done this in chemistry yesterday when we were learning about catalysts, we used potassium iodide tho :)
Where did you get the potassium iodide?
This was Science Bob's first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2011.

Hola buen dia podria traducirme en español los ingredientes?
Does anybody know if this works with manganese dioxide, which is also a H2O2 catalyst?
I think it does. Also works with potassium iodide
where do you get the special h202?
Everywhere
ScienceBob What materials did you use? Did you also use water?
What is the last liquid that he put

What was the last chemical used, liquid soap, hydrogen peroxide.... ?
tania Castanos That was a solution of Potassium Iodide - it acted as a catalyst to speed up the reaction.
potassium iodide works too?
What is the Sodium mixture?
u can use yeast
How long dose it take to make
and what cause sodium iodide to be able as a catalyst?how is the mechanism there? @Sciencebob
Bob has not aged one bit since this was filmed
Which Molarity of h2o2 is taken and have you used NaOH solution?
Hi There, What is the sodium solution that he has added????
Can I use sodium iodide
where do i get potassium iodide?
what are the chemicals used in this ? hydrogen peroxide and sodium?.. pls someone reply
Yes; run fast, run far
Ingrediants and measurements please

Bob is awesome
whats the white liquid they pour into it?
Sodium solution
um is yeast better then catalyst?
What is the last thing that u pored in there
Amira Spencer it is 1 teaspoon of yeast dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
Amira Spencer It was a solution of Sodium Iodide. It acted as a catalyst.
