- The classic Elephant's Toothpaste experiment with Science Bob on Jimmy Kimmel Live. This was Science Bob's first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2011. Learn how to do this experiment at home at: sciencebob.com/fantastic-foamy...
It's steam. The reaction creates a lot of heat - it's exothermic!
what are the materials that u have applied
oh
@@AftabAlam-uf8iz it's 30% hydrogen peroxide mixed with dish soap. H202. Then you can use potassium iodide as a catylist to speed up the release of the extra oxygen molecule to create H20. If you can't get that, mixing yeast with warm water will create a catylist instead. You'd need to order 30%h202 because it's stronger than the stuff you buy from pharmacy
@@micahroberts3564 No need to order the h2o2...just go to your local hair dresser and pick up a bottle.
😀 yaaaaaaaaaaaaay
I won my science fair doing this
Awesome!

Doubtful
I feel like I am the only person who is here from 2020?😂
me after you. I'm going to do this for my students
Hello : )
I’m also here
I’m here
Nope
Don't judge me but I brought a bag of these materials to school and put them in the bathroom. During first period I asked if I could go to the restroom and I pulled this off😂 I doubled the recipe and it was flowing out the door for the entire bathroom. The next day the principal gave us all a lecture about what happened and how it was "unacceptable" behavior and he said that if anybody knew anything to say something. It's been about a months since that day and I'm pretty much in the clear😂
Casey Greyson that is hilarious😂😂😂
Casey Greyson hy what was the third compound they used i didnt get it
Alex TehSavage you my friend are one savage genious :D
Binit Konwqr
1) put washing up liquid in container
2) put ~30% hydrogen peroxide in container and mix (you have to have a licence to buy this strength peroxide so it's unlikely op did what he said, you can buy weaker peroxide but it won't work anywhere near as good (3% peroxide was used on cuts, and ~10% is used to bleach hair)
3) the end solution they add is a catalyst - in this case it's sodium iodide (he says sodium solution so unless you know the reaction you wouldn't have been able to know this), you can also use other catalysts such as potassium iodide and manganese (IV) oxide. I'm not sure if you can buy these chemicals without a license but I wouldn't have thought so
The amount of reactants you add obviously dictates how large a scale it will be, doing it in an Erlenmeyer flask (conical flask) will give more 'bang' as it bottlenecks toward the top but it can be done in any container.
If you want to know more just Google elephants toothpaste as it is commonly known, you might be able to find out how to do it with household products (you probably can but it won't be as impressive as this)
And we are preying that no one from your school sees this!
Can you please list all the exact ingredients and measurements? we thought we'd do this for a science fair.
I met this guy at school today. My principal put it all together and he came to my school which is Barton academy graded school and he had a presentation in form of the entire school and we got to help him with it. It was awesome we blew stuff up.😂😂
Aye thanks for liking my comment and putting on a really fun presentation. It was fun and cool to see that, when I heard after we were done testing that bob the science guy was coming to our little small town school I was so excited.❤️❤️
What is the catalyst used
I love your experiments you are amazing science bob
Here we go--->
Chemicals required:-
1. H2O2 (10% or 20% or 30%) high percentage gives high reaction so recommended ( 10 %or 20%)
2. Saturated potassium iodide
------------------------------------------
For foam :-
1. Dish soap liquid
-------------------------------------------
For colour:-
1. As u like (red, green, blue, orange etc.....
------------------------------------
How to do it?
Step 1:-Take conical flask Add H2O2, soap dish liquid, colour and mix well.......
Step 2:- Now take potassium iodide and pour into conical flask.
----------------------------
Exotermic reaction which is reversible reaction.

So becareful with ur eyes while doing this experiment. It releases oxygen molecules and produces heat which may irritates to ur eyes.
What else can we use instead of potassium iodide?
Thank you 😊
@@blessedone8723 we can also use manganese dioxide
bob is the best
I love your experiments they are so
interesting
Sheldon did this in Big Bang Theory when he sabotaged Kripke's laboratory.
What episode is that? I don't remember it 😂

The Creatures anyone?
Hello I am creatures
Yes sir
***** Imagine if this happened in the office lol.
We have to find a way to send them this video
yep
Wow, this is amazing!
Who else has to watch this for school and is virtual
Beautiful
This is why I love science
Can you please share the ingredients/amounts/concentrations? I would love to do this experiment with the kids at school... Thanks
Such a violent reaction that you almost expect to hear a weird sound when it's done!
Bob is awesome
He almost shattered that😂
adorei esse experimento
I love his videos🤣
The Creatures Tho
So cool! We just did this as a 3am challenge and had a blast! New subscriber here :-)
We're gonna need another Jimmy.
You're so rad science bob
What is the sodium solution used for the catalyst?
How Amazing! Will you ever be back on one of those?
When you have coffee at a gas station
This is how you make a really cool exploding Volcano for a science project!!
Just a tip in case you didn't already make the connection. ;)
amazing science bob seems nice person
Wow that's the greatest and shoking thing I've ever seen
Doing this for my science exhibition... this is gonna literally blow them away...
Good Luck!
What did you use?
Awesome
that was so cool!!!!!
This was Science Bob's first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2011.
he is my fav persone to watch
Awesomeness
OMG SCIENCE BOB IS MY SCIENCE HERO
FINALLY AN UPLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Shoutout to all the people watching this to answer a warmup question
superb
Good vid!
a young bob and a well feed jimmy.
Hola buen dia podria traducirme en español los ingredientes?
I really love science so much Experiments
awesome
So cool
Which ingredients do we need for that? I want to try it, and i want it to be that powerfull!

Can you just tell me what did you put exactly
and did you put catalyst or no .
and can you please write for me like an small essay about what exactly happens in this reaction to write it on my science fair
Thanks so much :D
conical flask me aapne kya liya hai ?? please give me answer
Will it work with pottasium permanganate as the catalyst?
We done this in chemistry yesterday when we were learning about catalysts, we used potassium iodide tho :)
Where did you get the potassium iodide?
wow elephant must be happy
2:39 skype notification sound got me lmao
2:21
what did you uses to make the big one please tell me and thanks
james must be jealous
cocobug1000 hehe
yeast was not the proper ingredient
Very
yep
From the creatures
yay amazing
ScienceBob What materials did you use? Did you also use water?
That's cool!
That run doe
Is so awesome
Good!
Plz asap if anyone can lits the ingredients and possibly where to get them would be awesome
You should do a demonstration of your products becasue I need the size of your preform test tubes
What was the sodium solution you used? Or if I can't get it, are there any substitutes?
use yeast as a sub !
I actually I did this experiment on my science fair at school it really worked and yeah it was awesome
could you tell me the ingredients?
Could you please tell me what size Erlenmeyer Flash you are using? Thank you!
Deborah Shrum That's a 5,000 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
This is like honey lemon from big hero 6 who agrees
Gud
FAK YOU
Yeah your right
Gabi's Vlogs me
Refika Pekdemir how rude
how do we prepare the sodium solution
I had to watch this video for science class and I was cool
This Guy is awesome.
very heplful
Hey Bob can I use different material other than sodium iodide Can you suggest to me that other material thank you
Should sodium iodide be liquid or powder?
this is soooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where do you get the special h202?
Everywhere
Hi There, What is the sodium solution that he has added????
Which Molarity of h2o2 is taken and have you used NaOH solution?
Epic meme guys xx
your the reason i want to be a scientest your awesome thank you
You're
the reason why sometimes I want to kill myself.
@@ena131 shut up
I did this when I was little and I whatched this video as instruction and it made my house a mess
2:20 OOPS!
When I am watching this vid I saw the science guy on tv lolll
Can someone give the exact concentrations of all the reagents used in this experiment? Pleaseeee.. Thankyouuu
Thats my science teacher!!!!!!!!!!! Omggggggggg
Aloha Science Bob!!! I am wanting to perform this demo as a pageant talent and would love some insight/guidance! I am a Bio/Chem student at UHH, is there any way I could email you? I would be honored if you replied back! Aloha!
WOW 😯 THAT WAS COOL
Wowwwww!!!!
I want to do this
Incredible that's very nice it's like half volcano but it's elephant toothpaste
Bob has not aged one bit since this was filmed
Crazy
Lol I’m doin this for home school
Amizing
Yes; run fast, run far
Wow😮
We made that at school! We only need Diswashing liquid, a container, food coloring, hydrogen peroxide. I think it includes or excludes water.
Well, hydrogen peroxide is water, but not the normal ones you buy at the store
Alexis :DDD hydrogen peroxide is NOT water!!!! it is H2O2, Just because it has H2O in it does NOT make it water! The addition of the oxygen atom to the molecule makes it a very toxic substance
oh ahahahah well thanks for the info. my bad
Woozworld Chanel-Pink Same in my 8th grade year
I like it
Nice
What chemical they use for the third and last?
