nobody on earth gets close to Randy Hansen when it comes to playing Hendrix . This is the closest you will ever get to what it may have been like to see Jimi live
My hat is off to you Randy. I thought the closest anyone came to nailing the wild ass electricity of a Strat while playing Jimi was Stevie Ray. Well, you just blew that theory away. Thanks for keeping the spirit of Jimi alive and doing such a damned fine job. You truly rock!
I love Randy Hansen..He takes the best bits of Jimi's music and stage antics, adds his own mojo, and re creates hendrix's vibe better than any other impersonator or copy cat out there IMHO anyway.
Its cool how Randy has devoted his "Hendrix-act" as a "note by note" performance, and yet throws in his own voicing/style when the things really grabs him. Do not downvote Randy,, he´s a hardwoking guy, who knows his Jimi-stuff.
Damn Randy you're so damn good at what you do it's like your truly channeling Jimi note for note! Damn I guess you took it literally after seeing Jimi's Seattle Sicks Stadium performance July 1970. "who would of ever thought"
just did. ralph is excellent but im sorry this dude randy here is on another level. look at some of his vids their insane. best hendrix tribute on the planet is randy hands down end of discussion. (The only thing is damn i wish he was left-handed, to make it fully realistic)
This Tribute to JIMI HENDRIX by Rand Hansen is real good.It be a real tribute to JIMI if he played left handed cause fans seein his HENDRIX Show will be more inprest with Hansen. I wonder if Janie Hendrix seen Hansen's HENDRIX shows! I have nuthin' against Randy Hansen,,I wish he play Guitar left handed at his JIMI HENDRIX Shows. Peace.
I think he does a good job of replicating Jimi Hendrix's music. After a while hearing note for note gets boring. I would rather hear the real deal Jimi Hendrix play. Nonetheless it is good to still have great musicians around.
good, or nice, of cool, whatever - yes a good cover, but it just is not The Master...but in a way, how the hell are you gonna copy, play, imitate The Master...therefore...a very good attempt Randy - but still, not close to the original....but hey...that was from another planet.....another era...another century...whatever...not to be copied by anybody..... respect for Randy for keeping The Sound Alive..... and RIP Jimi.....
Jimi Hendrix left an impression upon Randy! And he's following his heart!Jimi had influences and played other peoples music in his own way! Randy has his own thing going on within this format.Since the begining of time artists and musicians have stolen ideas from each other. What's wrong with playing Jimi's music? That's what it's for playing!!
Jason Hendrix I am not talking about stealing/borrowing ideas here. There is no shame in that. I am referring to covering one artist as close as possible which is here the case. Randy Hansen don't have his own thing...not really. Or I don't see it. While I don't see the purpose of it, I am thinking there might be a crowd for it and money to make. It is called entertainment, not art.
+jeanclaudeduce33 He's covered Jimi since the 70's so it's natural as can b to him. BUT he does have some original stuff that supposedly comes out his tyr or next.
+jeanclaudeduce33 I know what you mean, but there are worse ways to make a living. Better to be onstage playing music you love instead of behind the bar serving drinks or stuck in a mediocre bar band playing cover songs that you don't really like or doing some kind of day job that you really hate. As far as the clothes, I thought just the opposite-- why is the bass player in a Hendrix tribute band dressed so bland?! This guy seems more sincere than most tribute bands. He found his niche decades before tribute bands were ever a thing.
jeanclaudeduce33 I understand why some people don't get the tribute thing, but I dig it. It's a chance to hear old music through new ears. Artists change and pass away over time, and tributes are a great way to keep the spirit of a particular era alive, or even expand on it. Plus, some people just down right stink at writing music, but excel at reimagining their favorite songs lol.

One of mankind's greatest musical statements, lives on through randy.
Randy doesn't just imitate Hendrix, the Hendrix spirit is alive in him! There's a big difference there. I would go see Randy play any day!
MaxPaws same
One listen to music like that inspires for a lifetime if not eternity...
this guy is unbelievable.

This guy is a great guitar player! I bet he can do other stuff but his Jimi tribute thang is off the chain! love it!
When an original sound is heard on Earth, It will echo, and be sought and repeated by multitudes......

Despite being a repeated rendition, excellent and brilliant.

and RIP Jimi.....
he's a right player but why using a left guitar ??? LOL
I'm sorry, but this is hallowed ground. No one but Jimi should do this song. Not to say that this isn't impressive.
I don't understand the point of those tribute thing. Seriously. A lifetime spent playing someone else's music...and pretty bad clothes.
