Newbie Dutch Skipper Crashes Tour Boat into other Tour Boat

- This footage was taken on a professional tour boat excursion in Amsterdam, Holland. The Skipper was clearly in "over her head" on "one of her first days". Actual footate of several mishaps and crashes, including a head on collision with another larger tour boat. The Skipper was priceless and she made for quite the entertaining afternoon. We miss her already...

In Holland you dont need any license for mastering a ship up to 15 Meters, slower than 11Kn and you can take up to 12 people. Just jump in and go ahead.....
Can't find this kind of entertainment except in a comedy club.
she keeps over stearing
This poor lady doesn't seem to realize that it takes time for a boat that long to come around. She gets impatient, then cranks the wheel more and more. Then, when the boat finally does come around, she has over corrected grossly. Now, she does the same thing again, trying to correct her over correction. *sigh* It could be worse, I guess. She could be trying to drive a semi.
if that boat was loaded with tourist, then acidents would have happend, because she has no clue how to steer a empty boat, let alone a full loaded one. This is one of the weird things in holland, because you may operate a vessel way up to 50feet long without a boating licence, just as long it doesn't go faster than about 10 miles an hour, but you do need a licence to operate a jetski or any small boat that can go faster than 10 mph.

@Thetabiz she's a professional. She would have a simple licence to sail those boats with passengers and she's working for the canal boat company in that video. It's a very big company that do hop-on hop-off cruises. Makes it all the more amusing that she got paid to be skipper. funniest video I've seen for a while. loved it.

love the bit just after she crashed into the big boat, she holds her hand to her heart to apologize and then suddenly notices her boat is on a head on collision course with the next big boat (you could see it approaching a few shots earlier) and she returns to her state of panic.
does she say at the end "its difficult because there is so much wind and waves" ?? brilliant

She clearly has no idea how to skipper a boat, and was trying to 'drive' it like a car........... WELL, it don't work like that, you have to make small adjustments and anticipate and not be going so damned fast!

It is clear she is in great stress. but tbh most private boats in the city drive just like her. if you are able to be in amsterdam with special events like queens day . and you like incompetent ppl in little boats go !!
Crossing Leidsgracht/ prinsengracht is awesome place, and the haarlemmersluis can be good for several entertaining hours.
I was a captain for a long time, been canal captain for 3 years. then i got enough of tourists tbh and the stupid liitle boats most of them cant drive.

I used to work as a skipper and nose first is used by ferrys and commuterboats etc..but this was without a fender and honestly the worst driving I have ever seen haha..she does not even know how to manouver (a ship does not act like a car so you have to think differently) But she could not even let passengers of correctly...I don´t think she has a certificate or does she?? Hope not!

with no bow or stern thrusters.
I hated the windy days.
I kept a nice cold cocktail near by most of the time.
