Def do seek laying down atleast a 6mil liner under it, if not on a cement pad. Slugs snails and other critters will be drawn to the moisture the dirt holds under it if not. Learnt this the hard way and I did a liner later down the rd and was more expensive cause they had to remove and reset all the bricks again

Isn’t that what the Chert Pad is for? It’s not fort, it’s compacted rock that prevent water and moisture.
