It also shows you how disturbed Junko was, that when she met her end under the press, she was overjoyed for a majority of it, only looking up in dismay at the very end.
Fun facttttt! The song that was played while Kaede was executed was her favorite to play on the piano! It was played wrong sicne there were no black notes used, which shows that she wasn’t the blackened and she was innocent! (This is a theory, but it makes sense duh)
Kaito didn't die from poison bc he got the antidote or idk how they call it. In fact, he dies from his illnes, the virus that everyone thought he was immune to it just like the others. Before the execution, he can nearly stand and speak and he coughed blood.

I still feel Kaede’s was the most painful because she felt like she had no choice if she wanted to save everyone. Unlike the majority of characters, she did what she thought she did because she wanted to save them all.

kaede was also being stoned the whole time, + there's a theory that her execution actually went on for hours cuz of the clock in the back and that she could breathe everytime she stepped on a key but I'm not 100% sure
3:18 what makes me so sad about this execution is that this is so brutal, remember when Makoto put a towel on Chihiro (Ai version of himself) he said "it tickles!" like if those kind of slight action he is tickled what more of an excavator pounding him 😬
Interesting thing I noticed - most of the time, when a character is executed via crushing you get this massive pink splat upon impact, but with Chiaki's execution you don't get that. A deliberate choice, given that she isn't a real person, perhaps?
I think that celeste got killed by a fire truck because she WANTED to die in this extravagant way but ended up getting killed by a car "accident" which is the most common way to die. Thus ending her life in a boring bland way, which is the only way she could feel TRUE dispair.
Gundham at 13 is crazy lmao , even detattching it from anything to do with the story before and after it's still solid and hits all the notes of the best executions (belief there's chance of survival , ridiculous twist ending , emotional storybeat) maybe a little simple but that's all I can see wrong with it , it's not THAT far off the best of the DR2 executions
Not only that but the drawing wasn’t pointless, it was an anime reference which is totally fitting for his character. Thinking that it would save him because he believes (and behaves as if) he has magical powers.

The spell was likely there to protect himself, which is him believing in his magic till the very end, fitting of his delusional personality.
fun fact: der flohwalzer, both the name of kaede's execution and the song she's playing as she's being hung to death, is supposed to be one of the first piano songs learned due to how simple it is. it's only played with the black keys. however, monokuma is making kaede play it with only the white notes. i can only imagine how infuriating that must've felt to her, with her being the ultimate pianist. like, him going out of his way to play one of the most simple piano songs the wrong way just to piss her off b4 death? that's gotta sting.
I would say my favorite is Leon's because of how simplistic it is. All of the others have a scale that either borders on or is just straight-up ridiculous. Leon's though is something I could see being built in real life which only heightens the horror-factor. The closed-in nature with the students in the background is perfect for an execution ground.
The thing that makes kaedes execution even worse is that Monokuma did it deliberately by making her feet hit the keys she was getting enough oxygen to stay conscious which is why her neck did not snap and it took so long before she lost consciousness plus Monokuma was deliberately playing it wrong as the ultimate pianist obviously she'd want the notes played correctly

That's why she pretended her name was Celestia, et cetera. And being burned like a witch, that's a unique way to die. Only for her to end up dying by a vehicle accident, which is one of the most common causes of death. As for Gundham. He always talked about how evil he is and that he will fill hell with true hell. Only to be brought to heaven after his death. And now that I started going on a tangent, something I realized is that all v3 executions are built up from 3 segments For Kaede, she gets hung, stoned, and crushed. For Kirumi, she climbs a thorny rope, gets cut, and plummets to the ground For Kiyo, he gets melted, exorcised, and realizes his sister doesn't actually care about him For Gonta, he gets swarmed, stabbed, and burned alive For Kaito, however, he gets to show the mastermind a middle finger in 3 ways. He dies with a smile on his face, the cause of death is his own illness, not the execution, and what is most important, his dream of travelling to space is fulfilled For the Ultimate Annihilation though, the school gets blown up, Tsumugi gets crushed, and Kiibo blows up.
I feel bad for Celestia so i think about it as technically its not against what is important for her because like... Getting executed in a simulated witch burning and then hit by a firettuck? Pretty unique tbf 😂
i don't know if you even played v3 or not, cause if you paid even a little attention to the story, you would know Kaito was dying to his disease, not the poison. So that's an execution whose ranking I disagree with for that reason alone, cause Kaito dying during the execution pisses off Monokuma and it's always fun to see that

Honestly i do kinda want to defend some of the lower executions, not all of em, some i agree with but some i don't. (Also i don't mean anything here with hostility, i am just a weird dude who wants people to be on the same page if i get something wrong i will see if stuff makes sense.) #21 I believe the reason why he came back as a skeleton is due to the air friction causing the ship to heat up extremely causing the inside of the ship to essentially become a giant cremation for the headmaster. So he was reduced to bone since all of his skin, muscle, and blood burned up due to the heat. #15: It's highly believe that in reality what happened is that monokuma actually stabbed her and injected her with a lethal overdose and the rest of the execution is a mixture of reality with hallucinations where monokuma again sent her into space while she was slowly dying so that her slow death would be mixed with a lack of oxygen resulting in a even more trippy death for mikan. #13: That's an alchemy circle, so it seems Gundahm was trying to make some kind of object to block the stampede by using the sand around him, but he was too slow in doing so causing his death, but atleast he kept his hamsters safe so i'm fine with it. #11: DUDE KAITO HAD A DISEASE THAT WAS KILLING HIM THROUGHOUT THE GAME, he didn't ingest any kind of poison, dude literally let go of the last of his strength once he saw he was in space . For #10 it's just a bit of a fun fact but this execution becomes a lot more brutal once you know the story they took this from in history, involving Goemon and his execution. Also #3 if you pay attention he rarely takes any baseballs to the face until the end, so he was repeatedly beaten with baseballs basically turning his bones into fucking dust from the amount of force being exerted all over his body so leon was probably in EXTREME pain until the end. Finally for #2 if you pay attention to the background Kaede was being hung over the course of 8 FUCKING HOURS, that is probably one of the worst deaths for a student, ESPECIALLY FOR THE FACT SHE DIDN'T DO IT. She not only had to be hung, she also seemingly took a breath whenever she was placed on a key, then she was being pelted by rocks from the audience, then she had to listen to a very simple piano piece being played horribly incorrectly, FOR 8 HOURS.
#2 Kaede wasn’t confirmed to be struggling for 8 hours during that execution, the clock going crazy probably references how the execution goes crazy at the end.
The real Chiaki’s execution in the anime is even more insane given she’s sent through a death maze and they spend an entire episode on her execution/torture playing out.

I have a theory that Kyoko's execution/the bad ending was just Makoto's hallucination. Bit fuzzy on what happens in the game, so bare with me. Makoto didn't know Alter ego was 'alive', so Kyoko being saved wouldn't have been hallucinated, we get sent right back to the selection of trusting Kyoko or not with Byakuya(or someone else) saying something "Hey snap out of it" or something(again bare with me my memory on this is fuzzy). As for the randomness of Aoi having 20000 children, it's a hallucination random goofy things are going to happen. As for why the executions are so similar, there's no reason lore wise, I chalked it up to time/money reasons on the development team.
The one reason why I think it was a good idea for mondo to become butter is bc his name ( idk like Japanese or somethin ) actually means butter so that’s why I think it was a good idea

also, mondo's execution is a reference to little black sambo, where a boy gives 3 tigers his clothes, the tigers argue over which one is best dressed, and they then chase eachother around a tree until they turn into butter, which the boy's mother then puts on pancakes. It's a fairy tale so I cut the story a bit of slack for an odd ending. I don't know the connection between the story and mondo, but I know there is one

Celeste was proud to be dying in such a noble way, and was killed by something goofy, and Gundham used the spell to protect his Hamsters, and was carried to Heaven after saying he was a god of Hell.
