CGC you have really inspired me and hands down you are the best source for learning here in Colorado IMHO....I can't wait for the opportunity to meet you and pick your brain this coming season...Thank you for your kindness in sharing.
I am very happy to hear that Adam! For years, I kept most of my prospecting activities secret but have recently decided that it is ok to share and learn together. We are learning new things every day and the like minded camaraderie and inspiration that we get from one another, goes a long way to help push us forward in the pursuit of gold!
We are all glad you decided to share your secrets with us! Lol I agree with Adam. Your videos are hands down the best educational videos. Not only do we get how to but also geological education at the same time.
@@goldspot804 Such kind words, thanks Shane! When I first started out prospecting, I was pretty much on my own as far as learning resources go. I was fortunate to learn a bit from some now passed oldtimers and my own research. Still learning everyday. It's fun to inspire one another to keep the gold hunt alive! It's not easy to endlessly search for that gold. Camaraderie and and encouragement go a long way! Heavy pans my friend!!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I was wondering if you know anyone that might be willing to help a veteran with accommodations when I come out your way this spring...all the places I found online for the area were way out of my price range...thank you for any suggestions.
I am working the same situation here in California. Patented load mine plus 16 claims. I am looking forward to more videos. I can always learn something new. Thanks.
Sounds great Lars! I hope you find some worthwhile veins to work out there! I got some new vids in the works that may be of interest to you. Small blasting, further exploration and jackhammers. Cheers!
I am very humbled that my explorations can be of benefit to others! The support and encouragement gives me the drive necessary to dig yet another hole! Boom! Happy Holidays!
Someone spent some time and money making that grating you were standing on. Good thing they did because otherwise the mine would have refilled itself with rubble. You are going to have to mechanize this mine and secure the opening to prevent further fallback of rubble and overburden.
Absolutely. Might have to build a wooden collar around the entrance. I'm still evaluating all of the ore shoots to figure out which one to tackle first.
Thanks for taking us along. Your discussion is helpful since I am very new to attempting to find gold in hard rock. This material looks similar to some here in the Wasatch.
My pleasure UtahAu! We are all learning together. What makes this ore interesting is the fact that it is fully oxidized. This means that all of the sulphides have weathered out, leaving us with much easier to process free milling ore. Good luck out there!
You know, I have actually started looking into the "blowers" the Australians us in opal mining. Curious if that type of setup could work in this application?
@@ColoradoGoldCamp While I was watching your video, I was thinking about some of the gear that the opal miners use in South Australia. Some have electric powered, by generator on the surface, mini diggers with a rotating drum and rock picks. It cuts a opening about 3 or 4 feet wide by about 6 to 7 feet tall, giving you room to work relatively comfortably. Downside is the greater volume of spoil to remove.
@@markfryer9880 Yea, some of the opal mining equipment is really interesting. I particularly like the underground hydraulic diggers. Most of the ground they are mining in is relatively soft, so I don't think it would work well on hardrock material. All of the hoists they use could be of great use in my application. Now the "blowers" look really interesting. Basically a giant dredge type vacuum that sucks up rock and dirt out of the mine. Not sure why I've never seen those in use elsewhere??
You are an incredible source of learning. I recently moved to Colorado, and have been trying my hand at prospecting since I've always had a little gold fever. I would love the chance to meet you and get to learn more from you!
Hi, I wanted to ask some help me questions please. How much is the 2021 prospectors license cost? How much I’d the current land costing for a startup gold prospecting costs? I’ve got more questions since I have a small limited but learning from your gold deposits videos knowledge of geographic minerals to rare earth minerals I’ve been very interested prospecting but I live in Golden, Colorado. So I don’t know where to start for a retirement hobby on a newbie level on stable rich rare earth land zones if the permits allow but I’m just interested in your hard miner working strategy methods 👈🏾🤔. Plus education help so when im ready to get gold bug dirty to mine myself for my own gem 💎 crafting kiosk ✌🏿😅.
There are many deposits developed and undeveloped around the state. From gold to crystals and rare earths. What you need to first do is research how to find areas that are open to mineral entry and you can prospect. There are also a fair bit of opportunities to purchase patented mines that may be worth reopening in todays climate.
Hmm, standard geology can be quite boring and confusing. If you focus more on metal mining geology, things start to get more interesting and make more sense. Research various types of gold deposits. You could start with hydrothermal gold veins.
I 4wheel a bit around Old Stage and Gold Camp and played with the idea of prospecting at some of my camp spots, but I'm not confident on what to look for and my panning skills is subpar. AskJefdWilliams is why I have a prospectors kit and sparked my interest in mining, but your videos are a bit more informative without the crazy gold fever character, and you're in CO, not AZ so the geology isn't a guess and dig game.
Hey Reaper, there are definitely some crystal to find up in your stomping grounds. There is lot's to learn when it comes to prospecting. Panning is actually quite challenging at first but once you get it dialed in, is pieces of cake. Practice panning at home in a tub to get your technique dialed in then you can sample pan with confidence out in the field!
I watched this video when it was put out. I think you did one more video on this patented claim that I watched also. Have you done any other videos on this claim? It’s very interesting watching a series on the same claim.
Hi, well this was interesting and educational. It will be interesting to see what this claim holds after you get it secured.. Do these types of mines cave in easily? That would be scary, but it is part of the adventure. Have a great day. 🙂⚒❄
It sure is exciting reopening this mine! There are 9 shafts on the property and I have already located 2 new veins. Most cave ins or collapses happen hear the shaft/portal entrance due to weathering. It sure can be scary. For example, in this particular shaft the huge slab being held up by one support is going to fall in the very near future... the key is to mitigate these problem areas as they found.
I have traveled for years to many many mines, I need someone to teach me more geology in or around mines. Can someone help me out, resources, a phone number, something?

Pass through venturie, kids like dredge nozzle. Sit up top and blows that stuff away from shaft ditch.
