    Did this route today, great route and some big climbs. Stunning views. Really good to be able to check the route here first. Thanks again

      You are very welcome. You got a great day for it. It certainly is a big climbing stage .. easily the biggest stage of this series.

      It's tough, no doubt. Toughest stage on the route by far. A Ben Nevis amount of climbing and pretty rough too.

      @@SartorialPictures Yes. I like your videos as you give information on surfaces etc which really helps when using a road bike

      Thanks - Do check out the balloch drymen video too. It's just a short extra stretch, about 10 miles but great views back to the gargunnock hills and over to Loch lomond.

    Brilliant video. Do you think a road bike with 35mm tyres would be ok on that route?

    • @SartorialPictures
      @SartorialPictures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. I did it on a cyclecross bike with 32mm tyres. The cross bike is a bit tougher than a genuine road bike but not hugely so. Main issue was grip on the newly laid surface plus general lumpiness, roots, branches. That was 2015/2016. Should be fine but be prepared for a little pushing. Potholes on the road section were tough too so watch speed and keep eyes open :-)

    Hey mate
    I've been looking at doing Glasgow to Inverness but with a road bike - reckon its worth going on the north side of Loch Venachar on the A821 from Aberfoyle to Callander? Or is that road super busy?
    Cheers! The vids are great for helping me plan

      Glad the videos help. The aberfoyle/callander road isn't toooo bad for traffic. There are badged ncn routes (like 7 south of carrbridge) that are worse in my opinion. It's hilly on the dukes pass of course ... but easier and lower than going through the forest. Its a favourite for motorbikers I think.

    how long did it take you to cycle from drymen to aberfoyle?

    • @SartorialPictures
      @SartorialPictures  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom strang on checking the gps trail from that day ... between 45 and 50 minutes

    These are great guides, but the music is truly awful repeating itself over and over.

    • @SartorialPictures
      @SartorialPictures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the kind comments. As for the music, what can I say, it was free. If I ever get round to editing the final episode, it will be better, I promise. (BTW its kinda strange noone mentioned the music on any of these for the first 6 years, and suddenly there's a lot of music criticism. Tastes change I suppose). 😉

      @@SartorialPictures I guess so. Great videos though and they're giving me a lot of inspiration to come and do these rides when I'm collecting British Cycle Quests. Keep up the good work.

      I did this just two weeks ago, but North to South. Thanks for these videos. I watched them all before going and they really helped planning.
