This ...is for me the most beautiful and emotionally song of the incomparable George Michael...here he sounds in my ears very relieved and at the same time happy to find a way to express himself ....so brillant....so extraordenarily...this song takes you away in other spheres....if not ...I am really very sorry for you......⚘

As a fanatic of George since 1987 I can attest to the fact that his writing method blows my mind. In an Australian interview before he embarked on the Faith tour "One more Try" was conceived and recorded in eight hours! Any lesser artist would have needed 8 months! I miss his speaking voice likewise every track on Listen without Prejudice but garner some solace that he is reunited with his mum and sister. RIP

his voice has definitley been changed by age lifestyle and illness having pneumonia as he did as serious as it was ravaged his body and soul the tracheotomy needed to allow him to breathe also required he take large doses of steroids not like steroids one might take to build muscle but these steroids destroy your weight your teeth your skin your eyes all ofwhich he did so he could still create your body betrays you and you have no stamina .....over all a nightmare hard on the average man but imagine being world famous and now papparazzi and neighbors selling pictures of you at your lowest and no one could show him the way out cant we now remember himfor all the greatness he did and let him rest in peace even his poor sister died of a broken heart due to the unending lies and hatefulness You are truely Loved and missed thank you for the legacy you left forthe world!!!!

His voice was raspy there because he was getting sick. The lozenges that he used were supposed to help. But they really didn't sometimes. You couldn't tell him that diet coke wasn't a good substitute for water....lol. But, yeah he was diagnosed back in the 80's about his liver & blood problems. So, while he took care of himself life would get in the way!!!

The Red Line interview , three months before his death , was so heartbreaking . His speaking voice had changed .He talked so emotionly about Anselmo and how , suddenly , in a fews hours , he wrote " Jesus to a child ". He was so proud about it : "That' s him , that's him
and me . " The whole interview was so sincere . George was like an open book. Perhaps because he was so confident with Kirsty Young .
I'm so proud of him : such a gentle and gifted artist .Unforgettable ! 😢❤❤

I don’t think he sounds ill, I think that his voice is deeper and has been affected by the tracheotomy. I know someone who had a tracheotomy and it didn’t affect the voice for a few years but then after scar tissue developed her voice sounded deeper and just not like she had always sounded. I feel like this is the case with George. Of course it did not help that he smokes cigarettes and pot because all of that has to affect your vocal cords. I love this man so much. Every song he gave his fans is such a gift. I never grow tired of listening to him.

When I listen to George when he speaks somewhere, I feel like I'm sitting right next to him. Nothing underwhelming, nothing artificial. He always gives himself. I really like! When he sings, it's a different matter, when my heart just wants to jump out of its place! Sometimes the cold runs down my back, other times it caresses me like the finest silk!

There is an interview that Andrew Ridgeley gave to an Italian reporter about a year after George died. ( Heaaven bless Andrew for being the only honest and clear voice among the keepers of George's life and legacy, because the rest of those who knew him think secrecy is equal to respect, and it's just not the case.) In this interview Andrew was clear that everyone who was at that time close to George knew he was in very poor health and that his body had never quite been the same since his pneumonia. George sounds tired and his lung capacity is obviously under stress when he speaks, which no doubt affected his heart. The weight he gain was also not normal weight gain, it is obvious that there were likely some steroids involved, due to the shape of his face and general swelling. George was unwell for quite some time and David Austin and his sister Yioda are not going to step up for his fans with candidness in the name of protecting his memory. Shame.☹️

@@maribeljerez-bennett9353 He also has slurred speech at times.
It could be as simple as too much alcohol to calm the nerves, or diazepam. Pot doesn't usually have that effect unless it's mixed with another downer.
Either way, he was obviously not in good health and to me, he has a underlying sadness that shows through, despite his efforts to hide it.
I can't judge the decisions made by his family and I'm sure that his loss has hit the family so very hard without everything else they've had to deal with publicly.
They shouldn't have to cater to our wishes or desires.
But despite their deserved privacy on these things, many of us I'm sure can recognise the small signs in our dear George over the final years that were revealing.
That's the thing about George, he was so genuine and couldn't help but be true to himself and his truth, even when he wasn't intending to.
For me, his loss was tremendous and its something that I don't think I'll ever get over.
My heart is forever broken... I will be forever in love with the man, for better or worse, for all his human-ness, and for being strong enough to share some of himself with us.
His voice will always touch the deepest parts of my soul, and I will miss him the rest of my days.
      Peace be upon him
      Yog Forever 💝😢

      @maribeljerez-bennett9353 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

@@christylewis5701 I am with you Christy. I know his family has had to deal with more than their share of troubles and grief. I certainly would never be critical of them as they navigate their burden, but eventually somebody will need to clear the air on the last three years of his life. If those close to him don't the parasites who want to make a buck and get a book deal will make up all sorts of lies and get away with it. One of the most admirable traits George had was how focused and clear he was with the whole media circus. He knew his best recourse was to get ahead of it or they would have a field day. Unfortunately they have had four years to say anything they wanted based on absolutely nothing credible, since George was incredibly private.
I'm appreciative of your feelings and share them. He was beyond lovely and no musician that came out of the eighties compares in kindness and humanity. We lost more than a pop icon. We lost a friend, a brother, a man with an authentic spiritual compass and "somebody to love". I think of his sister often and know it will be till the end of her life when her tears will dry for those she has lost, but I hope always for her comfort, healing and courage. Too much has been placed on her shoulders too consecutively. Thank again for your comment.

    • @christylewis5701
      @christylewis5701 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

@@maribeljerez-bennett9353 Whatever the family does or not, there will always be parasites and attention seekers.
Nothing they say could prevent others from doing what they do, and I believe the family is wise enough to appreciate this reality.
I think its because George valued his privacy so much that they are taking this path, in addition to their own feelings about revealing all the personally painful details of George's last years.
We know he was not happy for some time and his health was failing. We know he used substances to self medicate. And we know his weight gain was not normal in appearance, with the signs of heart failure (bloating etc).
We also know his relationship with Fadi was causing much duress.
All of this paints a picture that expains much of what he was struggling with during his final years..
As painful and heart breaking as all this is for me, for those that were close to him, it must be so much more so.
Because most all of what the attention seekers say isn't credible, they know to let it be, rather than be defensive over all the trash and bring more unwarranted attention to it.
Its usually best to not give the trash energy by fueling it with denials, or letting it be a cause to change your principled and thoughtful path, especially when its over someone as loved and admired as George.
Yes, George found out the hard way that its best to get ahead of the media machine after years of suffering at the hands of it.
The media certainly had years of field days with him😔
While he wished to be very private, and did his best to remain so, he learned there was a balance to be struck, and finding that balance as well as maintaining it is a job in itself.
I hope over time, some of the music he was working on gets released... I would love to hear his uncompleted creations.
I miss his soul and his voice and always love when I find an acoustic piece. Raw, unadulterated Yog is ASMR for my soul. It hurts so much now that he is not with us, but at the same time, its beauty nurtures me 💗
      Thank you for your reply...
Its always nice to connect with fellow hermanas y hermanos who loved George and miss him so much. Abrazos

No one ever talks about it but I truly believe that George gave up on life because something happened to his voice and he could not live with that as music was always reliable in his world. I mean we don't really know what happened long term after his illness and a tracheotomy. Unless he was physically ill during this interview he doesn't even sound like himself. This man spent his whole life worrying about his image and appearance and those final pictures are just screaming out of someone in mental duress. Although I miss him terribly, I am so glad he is at peace as he was suffering.

i was just reading an article about this... Kathy had said that in this interview he used some kind of voice coder or voice over machine to make his voice sound as much as it used to , he also used it in the doc. Freedom with David she said. I know that just as the rest of our bodies, our vocal cords age and when he was young he had a cyst removed from his throat when he was still in Wham, he had pneumonia, a tracheotomy , he also smoked which changes your vocal cords and just the strain on the vocal cords from the many years of singing , i am sure his voice sounded much different than what we last heard from him . but , you are right in the fact that music was the only constant in his life, he always knew that no matter what , he could always count on his music . I am not sure when his last song was recorded ( This is how we want you to get high ) but he still sounds like George to me and David had said that they had been working on some things before he died and that he ( David ) was suppose to release them because they were finished , he said that there was 4 songs that were finished that he and George had worked on . I do not know when he plans on releasing them and why he hasn't already but David was left control of the business and it is up to him when and if anything else will be released . i just know i still miss George and wish he was still here .

I totally agree with you. I found this last interview online. He suggested to her to make it into a radio program. He wrote in Freedom 90, "Gotta have some faith in the sound, It's the one good thing that I've got!"
He wouldn't want to live without that voice. When he couldn't write new songs, he did cover songs. He stated that his gift was the one thing that did not let him down. His last performance was in 2012. I firmly that he could not sing anymore. :(
