This crossing is so stupid
In the uk we have flashing redlights as well as an amber light the barriers lower the same way as this one but the train takes so long to arrive like 5 minutes or so 125 miles an hour top speed man I'd love to see this crossing for myself but we use alarms not bells
I have heard why it takes so long for trains to arrive at crossings in the UK (and it is the same reason why some of the newer crossings in the UK have giant pills beside them)
In the US we have flashing red lights, louder and more alarming bells, and the barriers lower. It also takes forever for the train to reach the spot

My parents got married in Herzogenrath many years ago and then moved across the border into Holland and we children were born there
In the US, from the time the train enters the grade crossing signal circuit to the time the train arrives is usually 10 to 30 seconds.
In Germany and The Netherlands too. This crossing took an incredible amount of time for the train to cross.
Here in the uk we have no bells just alarms and the trains takes forever to show up

Das ist wahrscheinlich ein Signalabhängiger BÜ. Das bedeutet das der Fahrdienstleiter die Strecke erst Freigeben kann, wenn der BÜ korrekt Gesichert ist. Mit Verspätungen Hat das Relativ wenig zu tun, Lieber @schoenawa

Apparently this crossing is only deemed clear for the train when it has been closed and No obstacles are reported sicher by Radar or CCTV. So the closing has to Happen White early.
