A few things worth pointing out:
Maui isn't from Moana. He's an actual god that people believed in in certain Hawaiian cultures.
Kratos' final bar is a play on how - in the original mythology - Maui died by getting crushed by a giant goddess's vaginal teeth.
The ending has two very short teasers showing that The Spot and Yugi Moto will be coming in future battles.
The fake viking bar basically represents that vikings are kinda like spartans but when a viking dies in norse they put them on a boat burn the corpse on the boat and send them away it also might be a refrence to kratos burning himself alive at one point also might be a refrence to the character Brok who got killed by odin and his sidequest was called "A Viking's funeral" (I might reaching on that brok part but rip brok). The Athena bar (basically what you said except the in love part) Athena used kratos throughtout the entirety of the gow series She gave him the task to kill Ares, She let kratos get the power of a god (I know some of y'all gonna correct me for that one) She let herself get stabbed by the blade of olympus to save zeus when kratos was gonna kill him not to mention she playing both sides through the entire game (that just all I know.I might have not even got them all but Athena was horrible).
So for your question about maui raising the sun that is false, in hawaiian mythology the sun was raising and setting to fast for the people to work so maui took it upon himself to capture the sun and threaten it to slow down so that the people could work and dry clothes and hunt, when the sun refused maui ripped of a piece of the suns rays (yes i know hawaiian mythology is weird, im a hawaiian local that studied hawaiian mythology in school), after maui ripped 2 of the rays the sun agreed to slow down. The movie moana is pulling form different Polynesian culture lore so it could be different for which pacific islanders you ask.
Maui also sings about it in "You're Welcome": "Oh! Also I lassoed the sun (you're welcome) to stretch your days and bring you fun!"
@@JooshReact Yes this is very true, i totally forgot he said it in the song lol
I did forget he said that in the song lol.
This was very insightful. Thank you so much.
You were close on the "raise a sun" line. Part of Maui's mythology is that he captured the sun so that humans would have day time. Yes, he was saying he could raise the actual sun! Plus he was dissing kratos' son in saying that kratos' couldn't raise his biological son.
Maui:
You pray all alone because
you eviscerated your only love
For those who hadn't understood that line, he was refering to the first game of god of war when Kratos unintentionally killed his wife and kids and curse is marked on his skin by having his love ones ashes and blood wrapped around his skin. That's why Kratos skin is white with red lines all over his body
The Norse deity bar represents that Kratos is father of Atreus Atreus is Loki and Kratos is farbuati who is Loki's father
that closing line gave kratos the win imo
Eventually I’ll find a reactor who thought Kratos won; I wanted harder reactions to some of Kratos’s disses, even if I understand that not everyone might understand them.
I thought Kratos won by the way.
Heya Darnell, great reaction! I was wondering if youd be curious to react to the God Of War summary by Suggestive Gaming, to get acquainted with Kratos’s Greek roots!
Of all places to run into you, this was the last place I thought I'd find you.
@@donovanhadley2209 Youd be suprised at how many times I get that XD
“This is my fate, I decide when wars are over” is a reference to the fact that Kratos took over the title of God of War when he killed Ares, he’s saying that he was made to win this “battle” as the god of war.
I at first thought Kratos won partially out of bias cuz I loved GoW2018 but I’m leaning more towards a tie now. Maui might have won for me if he actually made better use of the massive, MASSIVE amount of material of kratos’s past to work with. Some of his lines even felt a bit contradictory to some of the Norse saga’s events(Example: He doesn’t have “0” family members left, his son Atreus/Loki is still alive and well by the end of the Norse saga, and they get off on amicable terms and Kratos in general taught him important lessons despite not always doing so in a nice way, so to an extent that makes the “raise a son” line hit less hard)
Maui did raise the sun. he said it in the movie
You ate the mayor of yapping ting city
Wait. You don't at least watch other TH-camrs play popular video games?
Only one I watch is Afro senju, and not as religiously as I used to.
Ashee to ashes oof, kratos body is stained with his wife and kids ashes
YES! FINALLY! Maui COOKED him!
Maui flew to close to the sun
i don't think so , in the last verse , " he's a p#ssy from start to end! as his fate was woven onto him . " was a reference to how maui died in his mythology ( i forgot which one ) but , it was being crushed by the vaginal teeth of a goddess .
i say kratos won.
not really , kratos's last bar cooked maui , because it references how hes always a coward , and his death , which was being crushed by the teeth of the v#gina of a goddess.
Maybe you should learn more about Hawaiian culture before watching this because Maui was an actual God that people worship he's not just from some stupid Disney movie
This battle was a bit confusing because it used both the Maui we know from _Moana_ as well as the Maui from Hawaiian culture.
That was true Spartans did have the form babies they'll throw it off a cliff that didn't stop them for being one of the built different Warriors
Bro yapped
Go watch the original then, not a reaction.
