@@gcn Victoria: Grampians, catch up with GP Lama in Ballarat, maybe do the Peaks Challenge if you're here at the right time, NSW has some great climbs down near the Vic border too, as well as awesome rides around Sydney Harbour. In my home state of Queensland, there's riding from the Gold Coast and hinterland (Robbie's Grand Fondo is great), to a ton of great rides around Brisbane from Mt. Glorious to Mt Coot-tha and out to the bay, and further north to Noosa and surrounds. Could even go (much) further north to Port Douglas for some cycling by the reef and canefields! @@gcn The Great Ocean Road, along the bottom of Victoria is a definite must do, although, at approx 245 km it's better suited to a bikepacking adventure than a day ride. Wilson's Promontory (the southern most place in mainland Australia), the Glasshouse mountains. in Queensland, the northern tablelands area of New South Wales (I'm biased as that's my part of the world, but it does have a lot of national parks as well as a fossicking area which has been known to have gold and sapphires found there). The Barossa Valley in South Australia and the Hunter Valley in New South wales are our main wine producing areas and a lot of the wineries have tours for visitors. Even Mount Kosciuszko (Australia's highest mountain) although you might need to bring mountain bikes for that one. But if I'm honest, each state has something that would be a great place to visit

Cleland was closed during my visit because of the heat, but did get to ride up the famous Norton Summit climb and Mt. Lofty at 6 AM with a great crowd -- the ride-a-stage Challenge Ride was heat-cancelled that morning but everyone was still itching to bike.
Instead I got to tour the local chocolate factory in that heat... who had sent the production crew home early that day because the Easter bunnies were softening and couldn't be wrapped. And also saw the Australia Day cricket match between Australia and England, where England batted first and suffered five wickets on only eight runs before anyone started to seriously bat [sorry, GCN]. Nothing quite like having a cannon do a 21-gun salute just outside the stadium, one blast at a time -- louder than hell and it didn't disturb anyone playing!

Maybe also the GMBN crew should come and visit and do some footage, we have a heap of MTB for all skills and if they really want to do an epic then you need to come and do the outback odyssey (gcn do gravel and gmbn do MTB) document that they while way would be epic and would tie in well as it’s run by cycling SA.

You got so close to the park, keep riding up the Winding Way, over the train line and follow the grean signs.
Even on a 40 degree day, get to the park early.

May have been cheaper and safer to get a bike shop to lend you a new bike. GCN should have enough clout to pull that off. My luck the bike would have ended up in Russia.
Wow, the Singapore Airport has changed a lot since I last flew there - certainly no pool back then. I spent 6 hrs in a small controlled area waiting on my flight to Tokyo. I did spend some time in Singapore years ago and really loved the area.

Did you end up seeing any kangaroos? If not, next time you’re in Adelaide let me know. I often have to dodge kangaroos on my evening rides near McLaren Vale! I’m a Brit expat too 👍🏻

    Hey... ewe. Funny stuff. 😉
On a side note, remember: Landscape video taken with your phone (hold your phone sideways) plays back nicely on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, televisions, movie screens, and more! Portrait video taken with your phone (holding your phone "normally") plays back nicely on... phones and most tablets.

NE Victoria; base yourself in Bright and enjoy some fantastic climbs up Falls Breek, Mt Buffalo, over Tawonga Gap. Lots of valley riding too. Fantastic scenery, lots of vineyards and end up at Bright Brewery. Gravel too with lots of forestry trails to explore.

What about the actual Tour Down Under? Were you not allowed to show any actual footage of the races?!? Maybe a licensing thing? Too bad. Honestly didn’t do the event any justice. No bike culture apart from the crit but the cafes in the little towns scattered all over the Adelaide hills would have made the best footage. Contact me next time and I’ll show you around the best sights and scenery. 😎

Aussie customs officers will not let a dirt bike into the country. It’s a bio security thing.
