    It pisses me off that there could be something like this that can make a huge difference yet insurance won't cover this - nevermind the hundreds of thousands you pay into health insurance - they are useless. Shame on these doctors that charge this kind of money per month and shame on the insurance companies.

    This is absolutely incredible! I am so happy I found someone with exactly the same issue as I just realized I have 😭 I am so happy there’s a solution, I’m crying!!! No one seem to talk about a lost of drive among young women. I am only 38 and my children are 2 and 4, I’ve been disgusted with a thought about sex for nearly 4 years! I feel super tired and occasionally too emotional, also noticed skin aging.
    Thank you so much for the hope!!! 🙏🏼❤️

    These issues are destroying marriages and families. I read that 1 in 4 women has suicidal thinking and 1 in 10 women must quit their job/career, due to perimenopause and menopause issues deeply affecting them. Horrendous to think we get this Gaslighting from the medical community and society.

I struggled for years without knowing what was happening.. loss of libido, anxiety, confusion, Insomnia, extreme fatigue, pms were insane. I was prescribed anti depressants which I never filled and prescription sleep aids side effects were terrible.

    I love that you strongly encouraged woman to advocate for themselves and not give up. I am 58, post menopause. Been on compounded cream. Estrogen & Prog for years. Having no sex drive hit about 2 years ago and primary doc, gyn, & therapist all told me that it is "normal and there is nothing to do for it." Primary doc (female!) Even told said " Yes but we still have to have sex with our husband or he will get it somewhere else." OMG!!! Now I'm realizing I need to get my testosterone checked!!! Thank you!!!!

      @Edwina Cruz she shouldn't have said "we still have to have sex", but everything else was true. If you don't give them sex, they will find it elsewhere. Even a woman with a healthy sex drive wouldn't want to be with a man that can't satisfy her desires. That's the truth.

    @AquarianQueen67 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I take bio identical HRT but I chose not to take pellets. Once you have it inserted, you cannot adjust the dosages if women have complications apr side effects. I lost hair from the testosterone but I was able to adjust it being that I take oral pills from a compound pharmacy. I was started on Spironolactone orally and slowly I was able to regrow my hair. I also use minoxidil. I do have to pay out of pocket and pay $1200 per annual follow up. I have a flex spending account at work so I get reimbursed by the account for the meds and partial reimbursement for the annual follow up visits and yearly lab testing. I was able to have energy and libido that allowed me to go back to daily exercise and normal sex life. I was able to decrease my testosterone dosage and thank god I chose not to use pellets. I can easily change doses by taking oral pills. I like the increased energy and return of my libido but I had to lower my testosterone dose to avoid the hair loss. I use the DHT blocker shampoos along with minoxidil so I can still use the bio identical hormones of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone and thyroid med. My life has changed but with the decreased testosterone, I have a decrease of my energy to exercise for 45-60 minutes and now can only do 20-30 minutes daily to maintain my health. All my blood levels for cardiac disease and diabetes have all decreased to normal levels and have eliminated higher risk for those diseases. I feel great and encourage women to speak with a bio identical hormone specialists and see if it is right for you.

I Had to call and call until I found a doctor that would do bio identic. I also ended up finding an esthetics firm that does my pellets. So I don't even go to my doctor anymore I go straight to her she sells the biote and is very knowledgeable about it and is A PA.

  • @DookeyRidr
    @DookeyRidr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Good video, but I'd encourage you (and everyone) to look into cream or injections as an alternative to pellets. Pellets come at a much higher cost, many docs don't have any idea how to properly implant them, higher chance of infection, and the biggest reason is the very reason you are on aromatase inhibitors: you literally have no control over how fast or slow your body metabolizes that pellet. It really doesn't matter what dose is in the pellet if your body decides to "consume" it at a really fast rate. You'll experience bad side effects, and then when the pellet is gone, and you have a full month before your next pellet is prescribed and inserted--it won't be a fun ride! There's a good chance you'll be worse off then before you started HRT. Others have said it's equally bad if your body decides to metabolize the pallet slowly, thereby not giving you the proper dose. I've found that Jay Campbell is the most knowledgeable about this subject. He has since moved to recommending the testosterone cream (versabase), as the user has full control of doseage, and can throttle back slightly if you start to have side effects. Absorbtion is just as good.

    • @carolyntalbot947
      @carolyntalbot947 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This makes a lot of sense, but I hate to hear it as I recently opted for the pellets my doctor seemed to advocate for. I like the idea of a dose I can control, especially because I have a fast metabolism. I'm going to bring this up at my checkup and see what my doctor says.
      The procedure didn't hurt, but I will dread the gross squeamish-inducing sensation and the resulting tenderness. A cream sounds great to me in comparison.
      I forgot to take my DIM SGS+ supplement the first couple of days and had terrible side effects which resolved after taking it, apparently due to a spike in estrogen?
      This is all so confusing, but what you're saying resonates with me. Thanks for recommending Jay Campbell, I'll check him out!

    I was just diagnosed with PMDD. I am currently 30 years old and have been dealing with extreme hot flashes and mood swings every time PMS comes around. Ever since I was 27 years old, my body developed a severe allergic reaction to Estrogen BC pills, and I developed a quarter size lump in my colon. Luckily, that mass disappeared shortly after I stopped Estrogen. My doctor then tried me on Progesterone only pills, which caused bad nausea, clay colored poop, and nothing really good came out of those. I then started advocating for myself and joined a group on Facebook, and a woman there told me about Bio Identical Hormone Treatment. My PCP approved it, and my friend, who is a compounding pharmacist made Progesterone cream for me, which I apply to my forearm on days 15 through 27 of my period. Tonight is my first time using it. I just applied it to my arm about 15 minutes ago, and I can already feel my brain chemistry shifting, almost an off sort of feeling. My main goal is hoping it does what it's supposed to for PMDD without any major harsh side effects.

She was taking blood tests and just not telling me. I found out, waited the high testosterone out with the pellet insertions and then decided to continue to try to get the right dosage... by that time my body had this huge allergic reaction complete with horrible migraines, swelling, hives, muscle aches, fever, joint pain...and I can't have the pellets taken out but have to wait to for them to dissipate over 3 months. Yes, we are women and we know when we aren't firing right. I'm in the UK and all the doctor would do is tell me 41 is too young and I needed anti depressants. Four more tries and a blood test that would onmy detect full menopause and I looked online and found alva. Thank god I did. Filled out a form and ordered my hrt which came within afew days. I'm starting to feel more like myself after two weeks. Hard to believe in this day and age that we are being ignored like this. I had a very different experience. I had my doctor place Biote pellets subcutaneously last October 2020 and then again in February 2021. I am 52 and it was to eliminate a plethora of menopausal issues. My testosterone at my 6 week check after the first pellet was 203 and I was alarmed. My doctor was not, he said that was the level he was going for. Fast forward to April 2021, my hair started falling out in patches and I had been bleeding on and off for a few months. I will never get another testosterone pellet, and thankfully my testosterone levels are down to 73 (which is still too high for a female), but I am still losing hair and have a massive bald spot on top of my head. I found out that the nurse practitioner in the practice who is much younger, also lost part of her hair a few months into the pellet use. Thankfully hers grew back, so I am hopeful.

    An interesting difference between men and women. Men primarily use either testosterone cream or testosterone injections whereas HRT doctors will mainly give women a testosterone pellet (and most of them can't prescribe testosterone injections: although it is certainly biologically feasible ). I think there is a profit motive for the pellet therapy in women because if they could just inject twice a week, they would only need like 1 vial of injectable testosterone and that vial could last a whole year or longer. (As a man, I inject a 10 mL vial of Testosterone-Cypionate every 10 weeks). That same vial might last a woman longer than 2 years and because of shelf life, they would have to prescribe more like a 2 or 5 mL vial. The FDA probably will never allow HRT for women and testosterone to be injectable. But they should. It would give women a better way to control things rather than wait 4 months till the next pellet injection. Do they not trust women to inject themselves ? I don't know.

    • @AquarianQueen67
      @AquarianQueen67 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I take 100mg which is the lowest starting dose. I take it in the afternoon once a day and not really have any increased frequent urination from it, since it is a potassium sparing diuretic. I do try to eat healthy and watch for any muscle cramping, palpitations or spasms which may indicate higher levels of serum potassium in the blood. But since taking it for a year now, I see regrowth of my hair again and less falling out of hair in the shower. It’s very slow in the regrowth process because naturally we all grow hair 1-2 mm per month so don’t expect a fast growth. Knowing my hair is growing back instead of losing more hair or continued hair loss, was sufficient enough for me because I will eventually regrow that hair in time and continue to exercise and enjoy a normal sex life after 50. Hope that helps and also try minoxidil 2% on the scalp once or twice daily to help with the regrowth along with the spironolactone.

    • @CindymeCindy

      @Audrey Hepburn There’s many published studies showing that doctors dismiss women while listening to men. In the past they made the diagnosis of “hysterical” to most women who had any complaints at all. “Hyst” relates to the uterus and when you’re uterus is removed they call it a “ hysterectomy “. Thus every woman was considered hysterical since we all have a uterus.
      You are obviously one of the many men out there who doesn’t get the sex he wants and so he hates women. Go somewhere else . we only deal in science and facts here, Trumper.
