    Car was originally Teal Blue. This car has the desirables carbs. Really great car. I paid $3,500 for my 1973 B back in January 1990. Still own it and drive it all year around.

    Let me know if you have any MGB questions, I've been working on them since I was 12. I'm also a mod at the littlebritishcars subreddit.
    -The wood seat strips are original!
    -Yes the carb pistons are doing what they should but the dashpots should have the oil topped up.
    -There is no clutch safety switch, and they like to start in neutral with no clutch because the crankshaft thrust bearings aren't the best.

      Hi. Where are you located? I am in California. I have tons of questions. My mom needs her 1976 restored and we were wondering if we should put completely new, more efficient parts in it. Do you know of any good, affordable restoration mechanics in Southern California?

    Nice score(s). Glad you like the yellow one better 'cause that red one's spoken for for sure. She seems like a good sport though so you're ahead. I almost fell off the couch laughing about *all that rust*. LOL
    Good luck looks like a good set of projects.

      Btw, brake cleaner isn't a replacment for starting fluid

    I would have kept the roll cage for safety. I have just got a MGBGT myself good luck to both of you

    Wood spacers on the sear rails are stock. I took the roll bar off because I’m tall and could not push seats back far with it on.

    Why would they leave a giant hole in the trunk?? That seems sketchy. Nice work though 👍

    No matter what color it starts out as, every British sports car eventually becomes red.

    Sell them for anything you can get and buy ones that's already been gone over. You'll put more into it to make it worthwhile than they sell for. I Know, been there done that. Got one totally restored for 5 grand 4 months ago I get it, no fun getting one done already. Front end rebuild, rot mediation and interior replacement is gonna be a bit.

    I suspect the dash pad looks so nice because it's a replacement, as the glove box is missing and the opening in the pad for it has not been cut.

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great guess. I’ll look for some more clues to support that. They must have all had glove boxes?

    • @ArthurTaylorW
      @ArthurTaylorW 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MotherlodeMotors The years of 68-71 didn't have gloveboxes, having the "Abingdon Pillow" instead, but your car certainly has the 72-76 dash, which has a glovebox, not heard of one without.
      You can buy a new vinyl front with foam and replace it. Looking at the video, I'm impressed at the replacement job! I've done it, it's not easy, and the replacements need some "massaging" to get to fit correctly.

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArthurTaylorW Awesome, thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep an eye out for a glovebox!

    I hope you changed the oil before test starting the engine. The roll bar will keep you and the missus alive should it flip going too hard around a curve. More than one MGB driver has found this out the hard way.

    pack for messing with old cars, abandoned cars, junk cars, all of those type of cars
    watch Vice Grip Garage to learn how not to do it, and still work perfecly

    watch Junkyard digs to learn how to unlock the brakes and find nice things hiden in somewhere

    watch "will it start after long long years sitting" to learn, that if they can do a car start and drive after 36 years with seized engine, we can do it too
