Just a suggestion, I am sure you have heard this before please get yourself night vision camera so you can see what you are hearing. It seems this is what the people of the woods are using, even if you have someone else with you, it would help immensely.

I live in North Iowa, I love the woods at night, I always go by myself all the time just to walk and get away from people, but in my State I can carry, I'm was a Correctional Officer for high security for yrs so I'm pretty comfortable carrying and I would never go to the woods alone without it.
But I know you live in Canada where you have a delusional dictator, maybe some day Canada will be a free Country again.
