      I'm watching, finally, the five hour cut of Until the End of the World, and I saw you and thought, is that the yelling guy on the bridge in Paris, Texas? Probably not, I thought. But I had to look. Sure enough, that's you.

    One of my very favorite scenes of all the movies I've watched. When Travis strokes his back as he walks past, it says, I know you; you're me. The depth of empathy in that gesture brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it. I have tried many times since then, not always successfully, to refrain from judging people who seem so agitated and angry that they cannot be reasoned with.
