Good stuff. There's a story of a Special Operations Officer, being sent to brief the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was under a constant Relax Grooming Standards due to his assignment. He walked into the Pentagon, with "longish" hair, and business suit. The J3 lost his mind (having NO "good" experience with Special Operations), and told him to go BUY a dress uniform and get a haircut. The Officer called back to Bragg to let them know what was going on and that he was going to be spending a good deal of money for a uniform (it could easily cost over $500 to set up a Dress Uniform correctly). They authorized him, he got "squared away" and did the brief. He then flew back home to Bragg where he was non-deployable for 6 months till his hair grew back out. I don't know if that's exactly true, but I could definitely see it happening.
John Gates If any part of this story is true, and if the survival of the United States depends on a military with this mentality, then we’d probably be well advised to start making signs welcoming our New Overlords.
actually, it's a case of someone not knowing their target audience. AND. the officers placing FORM over FUNCTION (it was more important to LOOK the part instead of actually DOING)

these strategic adjustments to the "battlefield" are integral to success. its important to look at your goal and back-plan each step to get there while remembering there may be a time when deception is necessary to manipulate the pawns to complete one of your objectives.
Yet another great video by LTC Littlestone, brought to US You Tube viewers, choc full of Information and Intelligence ( I2), needed and necessary to operate in real life, real time, in the real world. Hooah!!🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️
Thanks sir. This makes logical sense, I didn't mean to sound too intense about hygiene but my generations forgotten nor tried to even learn this. I just want my generation to be proud of their own appearance. But this makes 100% sense. Also I hang on your words like gold and believe others do too. Keep up the good work. Don't you ever stop.
That was something I always said to my children. I wasn't even in the military either. Had I been drafted I'd have gone, but I wasn't going to join for a war the politicians were ruining. I knew John Vann and understood what was really going on towards the end. I did a series of videos on him.
"Give people what they want, even if it's a little bit out of your comfort zone, so for future engagements you'll have more power, respect and influence."
Make a video on The Unit, Delta force. Anything you know about it, anything you’ve heard from unit guys. About selection, missions, gear, weapons. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants a video on Delta!!
I watch all this channel's videos and would like to see a video about the ISA. Our narrator probably knows quite a bit about "The Activity" and would surely put out a great executive summary of The Army of Northern Virginia. Who's with me?
Sound wisdom. Thanks for the upload. I've forgotten about these things when I transitioned back into civilian life. Never to late to learn or remember. Again.. Thanks.
Bill Belichick is a fascinating character study for this. Bill researches each and every referee before each and every game and has actual updated files on the calls that they are most prone to make and the penalties that they call the most. He uses this to his advantage by telling his guys every week, which rules that they are able to mildly break and most likely get away with. Strategy at its finest.
I've ran 4 miles officially in 22:56. I've ran the same distance in boots jeans and a t-shirt in 26:00 flat. Not for nothing but what times did you and those soldiers run.
Same thing with UFC fighters. You can tell that there are fighters that look-up rule recent changes (like the new “Grounded Fighter” parameters) and use it to their advantage because there are some fighters that steal so vehemently away from the realms of the rules that they don’t even think about them during training and fights.
Haha !!! Very true !!!!!! And really i can say now life is a special operations : all the SOPs and rules of engagement and strategy planing for warfair suitable almost 100% in business and somehow also in personal life !!!! Great vids ,
I'm writing a novel, a horror story and I'm using some of your work if you don't mind. The story is that the world has fallen and humanity is driven underground... The humans have patrol team's that go up on the surface during the day but never at night. My main character gets a team together to go up on the surface during the night with submachine guns and heavy weapons. They soon discovered the nightmares are true and soon return to base, underground. They left without authorisation and have to answer, they left base with 500 men patrol and 8 men returned, one of the survivors, being my main character. He had to go an action report to the commander and he's is shocked what he seen and how he survived. He soon volunteers to return to the surface once again with a larger team and more weapons. Disaster happens. I'll send you the book when written, if you want bro.

God I hated CSM 670-1. That was really big of that commander, getting his ego out of the way. Egos...the bigger they are, the more fragile they are it seems.
Just Curious, Is your first name James? There was a Retired Army Captain on the David Webb Show who has a new book out called Stand Down about the Social Experiment the US Military has been involved with the last couple decades. You guys sounded exactly the same.
Failure to prepare is a Preparation to Fail. One of the most universal saying ever.

Even when I was a Cub Scout, be prepared. I took that to heart and try to be more than prepared for anything I’m doin
Military/ former military/ military brats know a lot of truisms which elude most civilians

I ran across this channel years ago, and even now. So glad I did; its given me inspiration to do better in my civilian life.
Many feel the same, as well...

I think humility is a big part of this as well.
In my opinion that was one of your most useful videos for the ordinary person in the street who wants to make it in the real World.
You seriously do not know how much your channel is helping me.
This channel is truly something special
You should do an auto-biography type video about (obviously not too giving much information) your time in the military. Would probably be a big hit.
Sir, you rock. I show these to my younger family members, who're now at that age where this stuff matters. I can't thank you enough for these videos, so, thank you sir!

as a young CI dude in Korea, I bought all my suits in a Korean shop, I wore the same style/types of suits as my Korean counterparts, it does help.
I sent this to my teenage boys. Valuable information about not being to rigid

This is what I consider to be "Life Long Learning".
There is always going to be new information that anyone can encounter & learn from.

...by the way your “Nothing good happens after 10 PM “ video was required watching for my kids, especially my daughters.
as a guy that's an insomniac and a stargazer, lots of great things happen after 10pm...in the sky :P
That was something I always said to my children. I wasn't even in the military either. Had I been drafted I'd have gone, but I wasn't going to join for a war the politicians were ruining. I knew John Vann and understood what was really going on towards the end. I did a series of videos on him.
your daughters like to stay late after 10pm, so you know your operational environment is stay late with your daughters after 10.
"Give people what they want, even if it's a little bit out of your comfort zone, so for future engagements you'll have more power, respect and influence."
Excellent advise. I have had many careers. Commercial fisherman, engineering, finally Police. Applies to all.
Solid advice. Recently applied this in the ME.
Can you do a video on warrant officers in special forces?
Yup good one, being a WO in SF is a huge attraction for getting more pay and benefits than just staying enlisted👍🤙
The information you provide is god sent. I already do most of the things you mention but as any man I have room to adjust and make myself better.
one of my favourite videos. I really like applied military knowledge in real life, keep em going !
This is one of the most useful videos on TH-cam. Thank you.
Great tips that I can pass down to my boys in my youth group at church. Building better men for our future. Thanks for the info and great video!
I just said a prayer for you and your men in training. Bless you for all you do.
