Superb dish and very clear explanation Vignesh. But one doubt. In olden days also only eeyam coated vengalam or pithalai vessels were used to cook tamarind items such as sambhar., rasam pitlai. Pull pongal etc... Even eeyam coated pithalai thambalam were used to store chpped vegetables. In the video u have shown v. pannai without eeyam. Pl. confirm. .

Meena T TAMARIND can be cooked in vengala paanai but should be transferred immediately after cooking is done. But in case of brass you should apply coating of eeyam to cook salt items
