But the story Scott Martin said was crazy as hell running between oil barges! An then his boat being found ghost shipped a month later.. Wild! Definitely more like these!!!

Honestly, watching all the travel videos and yall going back and forth. I could see the podcast being called backwater shenanigans or reel shenanigans. 😂 i really enjoy your videos. If only it could help me learn Florida fishing 😂
I enjoyed the podcast as usual fellas. I live between Houston and Galveston and fish the areas Scott fished a lot, as they are 15 minutes from the house, as well as the Sabine. Here is my thoughts on why the majority of bass stay small. Storms, as was mentioned is a big part, but you also have to remember that in these brackish fisheries the bass are probably number 5-6 down the list for predator fish, behind redfish, trout, flounder, gar, etc, unlike lakes. Also, i believe the lack of larger baitfish such as brim, crappie, gizzard shad, etc play a role. They mainly feed on very small shad and shrimp in these waters.
Grew up on Sabine River, fished both Texas and Louisiana sides all the way up to Toledo dam down to Sabine lake. Used to be a great place to fish we used to rip 5’s all day long it used to be a “sleeper” body of water. But what Matt said is correct. Each hurricane has brought the fishing down a level then Laura hit and that was the final blow.
Sabine’s a hard code to crack, took me many years. In due time it will be a great place to fish again it just needs time to heal. Especially up north, that’s where the magic happens.

I always find it so unusual how this area gets fished by the pros. I see so many buzz baits and think to myself, I never see anyone local regularly throw buzz baits in the sabine/neches. I fish the Neches every day on my lunch break. I look for natural or man main drainage outlets... Take a square bill, a swimbait on a 1/4 oz jighead, or a spinner bait. These fish aren't the kings of this body of water... they hide and ambush shad. As for why the fish don't get big. I think it's just constantly devastated by storms. But if you're throwing back a 16"+ bass someone is going yell at you... So y'all aren't wrong 😂. Love the podcast! y'all have to keep this up during the off-season!

Scott loves the long rides. Went from Mississippi all the up in to the mobile delta to fish in John’s bend. Ended up winning the tournament if I believe in the early 2000s
Never got to go to weigh ins got a stomach bug but my brother and friend went got some pics with you guys. They told me yall couldn’t believe we actually fish there for fun. Sadly louisiana lets landowners block tidal waters or weights would be a lot better.
There are some big ones out there. My son and I went out Saturday just accoss from the tournament launch and caught 11lbs in a couple hours. He caught a 6.81lb surprised the hell out of us. We went out Sunday morning to different spot and nothing but 11” bass. All on the Louisiana side by the way.
I'm enjoying the show. On one show you mentioned that viewers where tired of watching live scope fishing. I think you may have that right, but for me, there is a different reason. I can't afford a big screen and all the electronics. As a result I don't feel like I am learning any thing. Which is why I watch the shows. Its obvious to me the companies have spent a great deal of money developing the equipment. But the premiums for moving up to the bigger screens are ridiculous. I hope the tournaments put a dollar limit on the value of the electronics that are allowed on the boat. That way the companies can make money (it is critical that they make money) but they do it by selling more units at an affordable price, than selling a limited number of units at extreme margins over manufacturing costs.

The fish are small on the Sabine due to frequent storms and the salt. If we can make it without any storms before y’all come back a 10 lb bag will be easier to find. Also the high water hurts the bite a lot this time of year. That’s why the vertical banks around the shipyard played so well. The fish on that bank don’t relocate with high water. It sets up more like a bluff wall on other bodies of water.
The way yall love telling stories, Tourney Tales would be a good name. Another is Bass Bytes, or Strike Stories, or Tackle Talks. Or maybe form a contest , offer a prize for the winner who comes up with the best name. It may bring in more views and subscribers.

Podcasts are great and really enjoy them. The Sabine is not a great fishery and most of the fish are small. I would be amazed if the winning weight exceeded 50 pounds. Good Luck guys !
I remember coming out to watch you fish in Mobile when you won the FLW tournament. A 6# in mobile area is a giant. I've never caught anything that big here. I wish the bassmaster would come to Mobile Alabama Delta..my suggestion for the podcast was " The Trouble Hook "
