I love these editions! You are so sweet and the way you talk about your love for classics makes me want to read all of them right now. Lots of bookish love from Germany
I finally got a few Penguin English Library Editions! (Pride & Prejudice, which I need to read for my romance novels class for next semester, and Murders in the Rue Morgue and Other Tales, because I love Poe.) So excited for them to arrive!
I love these editions and I don't have enough. I have around 10. At first when i saw them in people's videos I didn't like them but they quickly grew on me and I love the way they look all lined up on the shelf. I love The Picture of Dorian Gray! That's one of my favorite books!
Great to see all your PEL editions! They're so beautiful. I've collected some of them as well. My favourite covers would be Far from the Madding Crowd and Tess of the D'urverville!
Because of this video, I'm now obsessed with the Penguin English Library edition books. They are so beautiful! Thanks for introducing them to me ! I just bought my first two PEL books and I can't wait to get them!
I’ve read Wives and Daughters and North and South and although I really liked Wives and Daughters I LOVED North and South. I adore the Penguin classic editions. They’re so pretty! I’m definitely in the midst of building my collection. Loved the video!
I love your bedroom! It's seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's so pretty and pink. I only own one penguin English library but I love them, they are so pretty! I hope to get more soon. I'd like to get the Jane Austen books and Thomas Hardy in those editions because I have them in the penguin black classics and they are horrible quality and crack during the first read.
I adore these editions! It’s now the way I’ve decided I’m going to collect classics. I have about 7 so far (of which I’ve read about 4). I love Vanity Fair with the diamonds on the front
Hi there! Love your channel and this video especially since I share lots of love for these editions as well. I've just come back from visiting in the UK and while there I purchased some of these secondhand from charity shops. I noticed that the newer editions seem to be in less quality than the old ones - some of the ones I purchased had a rubbery, smooth cover with a photo of the author on the inside cover. The more recently published ones didn't have the same smooth finish and the picture on the cover. Since you ordered these from BookDepository recently, I wanted to ask you if these are the kind with the smooth finish or the papery finish? I'm thinking of ordering more on BookDepository but I want to know which kind of finish I will get. Thanks in advance for reading this if you do! You seem so sweet.
Great vlog! Isn't Book Depository great?! I order from them all the time because I read far more British books than I do American. LOVE the Disney Princess sheets ❤ Where did you get those if you don't mind me asking?
I know, I love being able to get British editions with free shipping! The sheets are from Pottery Barn, and the princesses are all Mary Blair style - so pretty!
BookishPrincess I absolutely love the Mary Blairsville style. It's so retro and just colorful and quaint. I'll be checking Pottery Barn, thank you for the info and hope you're having a nice Easter :)
I was so excited when I saw this! At first I thought that stack was all new aquisitions and was like "whoa" haha. This was awesome though, I did a similar set of videos (set because I talk so much lol) showcasing my PEL collection on my channel. I love them! The ones we have in common are Middlemarch, Wives and Daughters and North and South, Howard's End and I think one other I saw that I'm forgetting. I really want the PEL Woman in White (as well as that edition of Moonstone if I love it when I read it) but I already the musical cover of the book which is cool looking but not nearly as pretty. I may cave when I get some extra book money. I am also very tempted by those editions of Sherlock Holmes because I have the Heirloom Collection which I love with all my heart because it is gorgeous but each one is pretty hefty and sometimes I think individual copies would be nice but I keep telling myself that would be excessive. My favorite covers are Dombey and Son, North and South, Tenant of Wildfell Hall, and Little Dorrit and probably a handful of others that I'm forgetting 😁
I definitely need to check out some of these books; which one do you recommend I read first? And also, if I'm not mistaken in seeing you have Disney Princess sheets on your bed, need to know how you were able to acquire them!
Loved this video!! Would you ever consider making a video of -advice for teenage girls? I think you would have such good advice for being yourself and being unique. You are such a great role model!!
I'm really excited that new titles being released in June. Virginia Woolf, F Scott Fitzgerald, Kate Chopin, George Orwell, Katherine Mansfield are some of the authors on the list. I can't wait!
I HIGHLY recommend reading FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA by candlelight on a dark and stormy night. You can REALLY EXPERIENCE the book by doing SO...ESPECIALLY FRANKENSTEIN!
Hey Emma, just wanted to leave a book recommendation for you. I really recommend you and your brother Athos to read Ben- Hur if you haven't read it yet. And even if you have, I definitely recommend as a reread. I think it has multiple things that both you and your brother might like, like faith, relationship between siblings and chariot racing, which is more interesting than it sounds. Hope to see that you have read it and enjoy it. Have a good day 😊
Have you had problems with misspellings in these? For in my copy of Pride & Prejudice, every time the word 'Choose' is used it is spelled as "Chuse", "Style" is "Stile", just to highlight a few examples. It is really distracting! Infuriating actually...(my ocd). It is a pity for these editions are really nice and feel comfortable to hold and read.
"Chuse" is not a misspelling , it is the classic old English spelling. there are several more words that are spelled the old fashioned way. If you keep that into account while reading , then the story, the way Jane Austen wrote it comes much more alive.
I love these editions! You are so sweet and the way you talk about your love for classics makes me want to read all of them right now. Lots of bookish love from Germany
Aww thanks, hope you get to check some out! 😊
This made my day!!!! Your bright personality and love of reading always puts me in a good mood :)
Your comment made my day - thank you! 😄
Loved Frankenstein. A psychological triumph. Dracula was awesome, too. Very visual. Good collection.

Same! I wasn't a fan at first (I feel very ambivalent about the Penguin orange color), but the more I saw them the more I loved them!

Ohh that’s exciting! I think they’re so beautiful, hope you enjoy! 😊

The only one I have at the moment is North and South. I want to get the Jane Austen books eventually.

YES these are the absolute best. They do get worn a *bit* because they are a delicate paperback, but it's worth it! And I love the font size as well.
Lovely collection! PEL are just the best

Where did you get your bed sheets? They are so cute!
Got them on the Pottery Barn Kids website, lol. It's such a gorgeous pattern!
I have a question.. Is this edition of Frankenstein the original 1818 text?
I was so excited when I saw this! At first I thought that stack was all new aquisitions and was like "whoa" haha. Haha, yeah I've been buying them slowly! I love the Dombey and Son cover as well - definitely tempted to add a PEL Dickens to my collection!
BookishPrincess so pretty! Yes I would definitely encourage adding some Dickens to your PEL collection 😀💕📚
Do you have the paper-y covers or the rubbery type covers?
I definitely need to check out some of these books; which one do you recommend I read first? And also, if I'm not mistaken in seeing you have Disney Princess sheets on your bed, need to know how you were able to acquire them!
I love your super cute monster plush pillow :)
Thanks! It's actually a yeti from Expedition Everst at Disney. 😄
I love your hair!!!
Loved this video!! Would you ever consider making a video of -advice for teenage girls? I think you would have such good advice for being yourself and being unique. You are such a great role model!!
Aww thank you, that is a lovely compliment. 😊 I will definitely add that to my list of video ideas!

We haven't read Ben-Hur but it sounds right up our alley - maybe we'll do a summer read of it. Thanks for the suggestion!
