Thank you Maggie. This park is quite big, i only covered a about 1/5 of it. Might do another but in a different area. Thank you so much and thank you for watching x
Actually the Title should be "Sutton Park-Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham UK" as Sutton Coldfield is now a district of the City of Birmingham since 1974 and is owned by Birmingham City Council's parks department
@@peterwilliamallen1063 i was born there. My Birth certificate from the then registrar at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall says "Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands" not birmingham. You are correct, Sutton voted to join Birmingham Unitary Authority in 74. But we all know it's not as simple as that... That's why Brimngham people have to keep making a big deal out of it. It's like walking around telling people we're in Great Britain... WE KNOW!!!
@@Rachel_M_ Well Rachel M, if you knew anything about it you would know that Sutton Coldfield register office ceased to exist the moment Sutton Coldfield was taken over by Birmingham, all administration from 1974 was taken over by Birmingham city Council and it's register Office in the City Center, And now it is Sutton Coldfield Birmingham. Sutton Coldfield did not vote to be a part of Birmingham, before 1974 it was in Warwickshire and with Boundary Changes in 1974 the West Midlands County took this small area off Warwickshire and it was moved into the West Midlands so Sutton Coldfield was put under the West Midlands and ten passed to the City of Birmingham with 2/3rds going to Birmingham containing Minworth the Town Center and the area of Sutton Coldfield bordering upto Kingstanding, Pheasey and Streetly, Streetly was then given to the Metropolitan Bourgh of Walsall. On take over Sutton Coldfield lost it's Mayor and Council Duties. It was because of this take over that Birmingham Briefly lost it's City status briefly due to Royal connections of Henry 8th, it demanded a reference on Birmingham's Coat of Arms as Sutton had lost it's Coat of Arms, So Birmingham had to redesign it's coat of arms which instead of a crown in the middle Birmingham put a Bishops Mitre in reference to Bishop Vesea and the Royal College of Heraldry accepted it and the late Queen Elizabeth second re bestowed City status on Birmingham and ever since Sutton Coldfield has been a district of Birmingham, the only difference being that Birmingham allowed Sutton to keep it's Royal Town Status, In Sutton, the rates are payed to Birmingham City Council as is rubbish collection collected by Birmingham City Council, it runs the libraries, council schools, council estates looks after all the roads in Sutton and Birmingham Parks Department runs Sutton Park and other parks, so n 1974 just after the take over you may have Sutton West Midlands on your Birth Certificate, but now it is just City of Birmingham and no it is not pure Brummie making a big deal of it but old Suttonians that don't like the fact they are now new Brummies
