I know you may not see this, but I want to thank you. You, Dr. V, and Dr. Dray have done more for my skin than any dermatologist I have paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars. My skin looks the best it ever has, and I forsee that it will continue going in that direction. I so appreciate your hard work. Again, many thanks.
You are such a wealth of knowledge and I love how you speak in laymen’s terms without being super technical so the average person and those who may be new to all of this can easily grasp what you’re saying. Thank you for taking the time out of your already busy schedule to create this content for us.
We're gonna need a part 2. I need to know about Alpha arbutin and Vitamin c Vitamin c and Azelaic acid Azelaic acid and Retinol What actives to layer after using a PHA toner.
Alpha arbutin and vitamin c are both skin brightening actives so yes they can be layered with each other just make sure if you have sensitive skin use magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) vitamin c Yes you can use azelaic acid and vitamin c together you just have to use vitamin c in the morning and azelaic acid at night Use retinol and azelaic acid on alternating days to avoid irritation
Can you make a full "skin care video" routine for different problems. For example, a full routine/product recommendations (from facial wash to sunscreen) for people who want to get rid of acne scars and pigmentation, or a full routine for those who suffer from extremely dry skin, etc. I suffer from A LOT of acne scarring (my face legit looks like a chocolate chip) and i think it would be really helpful to know what products i should be using together to combat this issue. I buy so many products but no one actually ever says how or if they work with other things. So your recommendations would greatly be appreciated.
I love the concept of synergy in skincare! My favorite pair is azelaic acid and tretinoin. Also love iron oxides but wish it was more common for sunscreens to state the percentage along with the uv filters.
@@DrAlexisStephens I think large particles of titanium dioxide can actually provide complete sunblock, but it is not popular because of thickness and white color. Manufacturers are not required to provide exact information about UVA and visible light in terms of nanometers (nm), leaving this issue open to marketing manipulation. Second problem is avobenzone which leaves yellow marks on clothes after washing in water as well as a transfer of white or tinted color on cotton or wool fabric.
Great video. I'm going to bring my niacinimide back in with my retinol at night and also use my bakuchiol moisturizer as the final step. Nice to have clarity.
like always, great video Dr. Also i think a great mix is azelaic acid + retinol + niacinamide + vitamin c if you can tolerate them. Your face need to be accustom to retinol first. If not, please dont use actif and focus on retinol and niacinamide first. Thank you Dr
I’ve been looking for a dermatologist that caters to black/brown skin and I’m so glad ice finally found one and then I come to realize you are literally in the same city. Hopefully I am able to schedule an appointment sometime soon😂

Just discovered this channel, why is TH-cam sleeping on it?! New favorite. Your personality has an analeptic quality to it. It's like being taught in the best possible way, hah. Can't beat a skincare lesson with a doctor who's absolutely killing it. Looking forward to seeing your channel grow!

So I just caught up on your channel. I had this video saved to watch later. I kid you not; ever since I started watching your channel, my consultations with my daughter’s & my dermatologist have worked in our favor. I’m not one to always think you need a pill for everything ESPECIALLY since my Lupus diagnosis and my daughters PCOS. Although I’m not totally against all pills, I just believe it’s not necessary all the time. That 20% Azelaic Acid prescription request came right on time💯👌🏽You are a blessing🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽And I am so thankful God is using you to minister to His children❤️🥰😘
Love this video & your channel Dr. Stephens! I would love to see more videos for nursing/pregnant women on what skincare products you would recommend (avoid/okay to use). Especially when it comes to retinol or bakuchiol! Thanks so much & have a great day!! 💕✨
Hello! I’m going through your videos and came to my attention the mix of Niocinemide with salicylic acid, every si gle thing that I have read/etched before it said that the two of them can not be use together because of the difference of pH!! You are blowing my mind right now!!
Dr. Stephens, first of all, your content is unbelievable and your skin is just stunning. Could you please please please do a video with your skin care regimen? It would be so awesome and I know many people would be helped by it. This was amazing information. You have already helped my skin so much with your other videos.
I love it too! It just seems to work so well with other products in the daytime use. But I remember Kelly Driscoll giving it up because it has essential oils in it. I wish it didn't... But I like it better than other Vitamin C products that I have tried. I always wonder, though, how it is possible that Klairs has put water and L-ascorbic acid in the same product and it doesn't go bad. How is that? @Dr Alexis Stephens
