I compete in strongman and powerlifting. Maxing out is part of the game. I'm 43. But hitting max weight lifts, I recover better from than lots of light reps

I dont understand. I have spotter arms set up. And she has spotted me more than anyone else in the world. And lifted 380+ bench that I missed. If I drop 405 no one is going to catch it. I just need the extra few pounds of help if I'm struggling. She has hand off to me in powerlifting meets
Theres no clips that I can see. Worst comes to worst, she can always take weights off the side. I love when my wife spots me. I know her little 120lbs isn't going to do anything but I'll be dammed if I fail infront of her 😂😂
