I also bought this pedal used for a reasonable price and I am still exploring all the options it offers. Just a wonderful piece of hardware which has become my best overdrive ever. Besides this pedal I only use my homemade Klon clone at some occasions. In most situations the Bogner pedal is my always on option. Highly recommended.
I have like 30 over drive pedals. All different shades. This is my favorite. It does something special to the highs. Like a squelch type overtone that just sounds amazing. The only pedal that really comes close imo is the KOT but I like this better. I keep the boost on zero just to bump the pedal a hair and it’s glorious.
Hey. Thx for the comment. I sold mine a while back in a moment of madness!! I have to keep moving gear on to get more to review but by Jesus I regret this one. What a pedal.
I've had this pedal about 2-3 years got it 2nd hand and have not regretted it once. So many different usable sounds. it's pretty hard to get a bad sound out of it unless you dime everything
Awesome video! I’ve had this pedal about 3 years. I bought the smaller newer version about a year ago but could never replicate the tones of the older version. My only knock is the massive volume surge with the boost. Even turned all the way down it’s overpowering. After watching your video I tried playing around with the boost again - those tones got me mega chubby so I’m going to have to explore the remote options to see if that can tame the boost beast. Thanks for posting. I liked and subscribed.
Hey Robert. Thx for the kind words and the subscription. Much appreciated. I bloody love this pedal. It’s an absolute beast. I don’t get a huge volume boost with the boost just a massive gain boost. Interestingly because I’m playing through the emulated out on my amp and not through a cab my clean channel volume on my amp is gunned. That means I have little or no headroom. I’d say that’s why I’m not getting the volume boost. What amp Are you using?
@@TheGuitarEffect I have a supersonic 22 - only use the normal channel not the drive channel- run this pedal & Jhs AT+ direct to the front and run the HX effects through the fx loop on the amp. The highest I would turn volume up at home would be 2. At rehearsals maybe 3 when I get to 4 the bass player/sound man starts talking about how we have too much stage volume. So the short answer is max volume 4. What you’re saying makes sense - maybe a tone master is in my future 😝😝
So you would suggest running the Bogner in a loop on the HX then go straight to the amp? The distortion/overdrive options from the HX didn’t really sound good to my ears. I haven’t really done much with it but set up a drive, clean and a classical guitar setting so I’m still learning how to use it. Thank you for your guidance!
So an amp effects loop is only needed if you are running distortion from the amp. The reason os just to ensure your delay and reverb come after your distortion. Does that make sense. So if all your drive is coming from the bogner there is no need to use the amps effects loop. This removing cabling. Which is always good. The other thing is as it stands using the effects loop any pitch, compressor or drive pedals from the HX are after the the preamp of the supersonic. They generally sound better before it. (In the front of the amp.) So I would put the bogner in a loop of the HX. Put any compressor or pitch or OD effects before it on the HX signal chain and put all mod, delay and reverb effects after it and then just plug into the amp. By the way. I really like the price of tone and Klon style models on the HX for drive and the OCD model for distortion. Can’t remember what they’re actually called just now.
Great demo buddy 😊🎸🎶! I'm waiting for my guy Kent at Sweetwater to ship mine out as soon as it's offloaded from the truck..I'm so stoked! My first time playing with any bogner products and from what I've seen I agree...best of the bogner pedals for sure..can't wait for it to arrive..I got an unbelievable deal on it!!🤘😜🎸🎶👊
In all the f the demos of drive pedals I’ve made over the last 4 years the only one that has impressed me more than this is the Trex Mudhoney 2. And it’s a pretty different thing. This is an outstanding pedal.
Have you ever tried a Keeley Constable? It's basically a Plexi preamp in a box. Far pricier than the Bogner, but you should check it out. I personally have the Bogner La Grange, and I think it's pretty great. It's got more gain than the Ecstasy Blue, but I'd still like to try the Blue, myself. As well as the Red. Good video! Maybe turn your amp up a touch more, though.
Yes, picked mine up the other day and it just arrived at my home today. For 130 bucks, it's a no brainer and absolutely undervalued at that sale price. I just spent about 20 minutes with and it's so versatile.

Got this included with a Fender Deluxe Reissue, Qtron, and a bunch of other really cool pedals. Can't wait to try this thing!!
Ah nice. It’ll be outrageous through a deluxe. Enjoy.

Hi Liam. Thx for the comment mate. Totally agree continually surprised by it.

Hey Robert. Just wondering why you put the HX in the loop of the 22 if you don’t use the drive off it?

Hey Eric. Yeah it’s a mega pedal so amp like
Great review. I’m going to find one of these!
Hey. Thx for the comment. It’s still my absolute favorite dirt pedal. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
🤘😈🤘I still love this pedal🔥🔥🔥

Hey Dann. Thx for the comment! Do you mean a Kingsley Constable?
@@TheGuitarEffect LOL YES! Sorry about that! So many companies, it's hard to keep them straight sometimes!
@@TheGuitarEffect How about the Bogner Blue Mini Pedal Vrs this bigger one?
There really is a lot of versatility in that unit isn't there?
Hey man. Yep. Astonishing pedal really. So powerful and the most amps like response I’ve played.
sweetwater has these for $129.00
That’s a fantastic deal. It’s an amazing pedal
Yea i picked one up for that without doing much research because the deal was just insane, luckily it's a good pedal hahha

Serious? I paid $300 for the red years ago.
