Jokes aside, you can make any combo deck look bad if you make missplays like the one in the first game. Literally the one thing Trump had to not do was burn a combo piece. "Whoops!" And let's be honest, even though the mage quest is certainly not the best card of the expansion, Lakkari Sacrifice is literally "1 mana: quadruple your chance to lose the game without any relevant benefit."
Lucian Florin Feier the thing that makes lakaris sacrifice/ the nether portal seem amazing is that it has infinite value just the process fo completing the quest is to great for it to be worth it
@Trump, the problem I was having with the deck was I was drawing too many cards with Oracle and overdrawing a lot. I changed the Oracles for Novice Engineers and it made it much easier for me to play Cabalist's Tome regularly. I also was not playing Thalnos, my list has double Ice Barrier for the Arcanologists. Other than that same list. Been having a lot of fun with it.

thats why judging cards based on meta makes no sense. meta changes, so cards need to be judged by their powerlevel alone. maybe a second category for their place in the meta would be good, but thats alot of work.

I tried this deck when Un'Goro came out and I personally feel like you can take out oracles add a tempest, remove a cabalist's tome, and add a 4- or 5-drop minion (like burgly bully). Dirty rat helps a lot too.
If you pilot this deck successfully and get to the end game, you look like Kripp, if you mess it up, you look like Trump :P. I laughed for a good 2 minutes when I saw the opener, that was hilarious. Great vid

To be fair, this is the exodia form of the deck, which is arguably less reliable than the Alextraza version. Yes, the other version get hosed by armor, but that only gives 2 classes an edge (and druid doesn't see much constructed play).

I don't play HS, it is to expensive for me and honestly, I don't think it is worth the insane amount of time or money in order to get a decent deck. Though, I do watch a bit of Trump and Kripparrian, partly because I like to keep tabs of HS as a front-runner in the card game genre. With that disclaimer out of the way, I don't think that a prediction should actually be based on if it becomes true or not, but on the merit of its reasoning. In a card game, there is to many variables and we can not expect someone to have prefect understanding of something will work in practice without them, you know, doing it in practice. I think Discolock is inherently broken on a design level, firstly it based on an RNG mechanic that can only be controlled by limiting your hand size by playing cards, which becomes difficult when you are probably going to multiple cards in hand that cause you to discard, though HS is a highly RNG game. The real reason it is bad is that discarding cards is a really strong draw-back. With magic, you can have a discard deck because you can control what you discard, meaning you will always have the least amount of damage done. In addition, the grave in mtg is a resource, here it isn't. Basically, in order to have Discolock to work, you need something utterly broken in order to compensate for all the value you are losing from discarding cards. And the reason that the warlock quest is bad is because it requires you to rely heavily on this mechanic, and the effect is not strong to justify it. Also, in a deck where you require lots of synergy in hand or early on the field (Silverware Golem, Imp, Clutch Mother), having effectively one less card in your opening hand for a later effect really hurts it. And to top it all off, the quest does nothing the turn it is played. Typically, the goal of a late game card you build your deck around is that you make deck over-all weaker, but compensate for it by having one card that wins you the game, portal doesn't win you the game. If Blizzard couldn't see the inherit design flaws in the card, why should Trump. This looking through at the game through a lens of game design, Trump was basing his impression on actually playing the game. Also, I would not be surprised if the quest is played, simply because when a game designer wants to push a broken mechanic, eventually they would just keep making it stronger and stronger. In before warlock wind of changes.
Trump should probably give this random feud up. If you watch his stream the memes about how completely upside down his card ratings were bug him a lot more than they bug Kripp, and if he keeps doing these he's only keeping that alive longer.
