G'day Mate - fellow youtuber here and track racer wannabe, I have done several Kswaps & known for Honda stuff in Australia, this seems like the ultimate build project I am kind of jealous and wish I was doing the build myself- regarding the mounts fantastic job welding and cutting them out I am also self taught & you are way better at it than me!
In my experience the k series is quite a harsh engine in terms of vibration and has a very high level of NVH (not important for a race car) however they tend to vibrate soo much they crack the engine mounts and subframes of the cars they are supposed to be in, If it was my build I would use the factory style post mount on the timing chain side and make the mount go up higher to the mounting points higher up in the chassis for better clearance, I think when it comes time to add the accessories back on to the front and side of the motor you might run into clearance and service issues (for the intake manifold -alternator and crank pulley and possible water pump if you aren't running an electric water pump) will foul on that engine mount bar you've made.
on the gear box side mount there is two holes above the gear box you could use to make a bracket to hang the box from using a hasport style mount off the top of the gearbox and hang the engine from that point directly above the gear box.
The rear engine mount seems like it will do the job you could add one on the front also - or you could have made a "mid plate" that goes under the tranny.
the cap head hex bolts you used to bolt the mounts in whilst they are probably strong enough and hopefully the correct tensile strength, I would advise against using them for bolting in the motor, for a few reasons, at the track it might be hard to remember to bring the right sized Allen key - they will be tricky to get the right amount of torque on them - they will strip easily - having a domed head they will be hard to get the multi grips on to unscrew it
**** just a side note after every track session you will need to do a bolt check on anything bolted to a k series I would advise all oem bolts where possible and spring washers on everything that's custom.
you are doing a great job on the suspension arms , I would maybe try and get a rear subframe from an accord euro or something that's multilink for the rear it would have all the mounting points and adjustable arms available off the shelf and plenty of engineers involved with the development, and I would do the same in the front that way replacement parts are something you can get from a near by Burson if you have a issue , or maybe even try to scrounge some arms and hubs from all corners of the globe from an Audi r8 or other Gallardo's there are 10s of thousands of them crashed in the world , also there is a very highly likely chance that lambo and Audi just used golf parts,
also lastly I have a website that I have built up and market through my TH-cam channel mostly Kswap Honda performance parts, I would be happy to chat off line and give you a deal on a heap of very high end parts built and designed in the UK , I work at the biggest automotive parts company in Australia head office down in Melbourne I can help out with any part on the car and save you some money as I know doing cars on TH-cam is stupidly expensive

@@TURBOTRISTO hi Tristan. Thanks for your kind words. Yes they are a angry little engine done hours of reasearch on these little puppys. But i certainly do not know everything about these power plants. I will be needing some internal parts and a decent valvetrain when the time comes. I could have bought parts and sourced cheap if i looked hard enough. But to me this is way cooler and fully adjustable. And all hand build bymyslf and thats a feeling on its own. Tha ks for watching mate and il definitely be talking to you again soon.

Since I launched my channel I've been getting recommended lots of small channels. It's been great actually, finding gems.
I see that the secret of going from 50 views to thousands of views is an epic project. Which I don't have. So I'm screwed 😅

@@1one3_Racing same here. I research youtube every now and then and they did say they were trying to promote the new and smaller channels. But again it can be put infront of your eyes and it is upto the person weather it looks good to watch. Honestly i seen this chassi and i could not afford it! But my mother is an absolute saint and she helped me get it. She laughs and says its hers until i pay in full. 🤣 good luck mate and all the best!

@BIFIRI_97 thanks. I see good things for your channel. You've got something interesting and the style is good and the editing is OK. You've got the basics with good audio and vlog style is pretty easy to keep interesting.
I've got a bunch of videos edited and scheduled to drop but I think after that I'm just giving up. It'll honestly be a relief to just finish the damn car and not have to film and try and think of the right words....

Nice job, but why not mount the engine and gearbox to the left and right side of the frame, like most cars ?

    • @BIFIRI_97
      @BIFIRI_97  หลายเดือนก่อน

@@NicolaasPlatenkamp Hi mate thank you! The reason for that is the engine is mounted east west wich means the engine needs to be supported in this way. If i were to mount it like a north south engine, the engine mounts would break pretty fast. And that is why the post mount is mounted closer to the top of the engine becouse it has a better leaver on the engines tourque.

I have the same torch on my TIG200 and I don't like it. The power wheel is way too easy accidentally turn. I got a foot pedal for it but it's got a really awkward field of movement! I should have spent the extra for the good Bluetooth pedal

Not sure if your flavour, but have a look into DQ250 dsg gearbox swaps for K series engines. Good alternative to a Quaife sequential for power handling and performance

Hi mate i definitely will, at this stage some things i put on this car wont stay on it. a few items will be for mock up purposes. even coil overs and things like that will be just cheap ones to get it done and then put the goodies on it when its alive. i will most likely run this gearbox to test the car and see what breaks and comes apart. wich most liely will be the gearbox haha
