Luv, luv, luv it! That whole era comes back with a serious, universal, open air, anything's possible BANG, and a pretty blonde with BANGS in her hair. OMG, LOL! A great, optimistic time to be a kid!
Nancy rarely disappoints. This is a great song and arrangement for her. Harry is great as usual. Happy and almost saddened. There can’t be too many more fantastic Nancy Ames performances left in that goldmine Sullivan library? When I have seen them all that’s it. There are other performances but Sullivan presentation, orchestral arrangements, lighting, camera, blocking, audio, was superior to all the other weekly variety shows before and after. The Hollywood Palace is a distant second. More than 50 years later and Ed is unquestionably still the King.
A joyous song of REDEMPTION, and optimism, sung with PIZZAZZ. Harry James is a testament to the universal power of music for all creeds and colors. He was another hard bop Grand Pop in his own right; another great bandleader and arranger as well!
I'm afraid I can't help but disagree with this opinion... Apart from singing in a perfect chest voice, I think that the command of the scene and the presence of Mrs. Ames was more than forceful...

Hey, that was cool! Harry was awesome as always. Ms.Ames had quite a range! I liked that groove near the end, too. 😎
This is so wonderful ❤
Phenomenal performance! 🩷

Harry James was a Treasure! most respectfully..Vaughn 🎺
The hair doesn't move. 😁
That was what they called bouffant! I remember my mom and her friends having hair like that. 😄
It usually didn't back then.
I think that might be a wig or otherwise an enormous amount of hairspray!! lol 😂😅
@@truthtriumphant They did use lots of hairspray.
It was a “hair helmet “.
Some viewers my age might remember Mr. James best for endorsing facial tissue. He certainly kept his chops into his later years.
I remember that commercial, ha
She has a good voice but she lacks in stage-presence. But Harry was terrific as always. DA
