At the Summit of the Future, on September 22, 2024, the global community adopted several landmark agreements. The Pact for the Future, the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations cover a broad, ambitious set of issues, including a new agenda for peace, improved global governance, reform of the international financial architecture, safe digital access and AI governance and youth leading for the future. The inaugural State of the World Conference at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs provided a platform for meaningful discussions on how the lofty aspirations to reform global governance and on reforming the international financial architecture expressed in these outcome documents can be translated into concrete action.
