Nice to see her free. Would be amazing to see her do a full exceleration run from a dead stop. Glad she’s out of Mexico and safe in the USA. Tomorrow is July first. Her and my country’s birthday. Then soon after The Fourth of July. 🇨🇦🇺🇸.

Hello! Can you tell me if the Empress will be going back toward Chicago, thru rural IL again? I know some flooding is closing locks along the river & was hoping maybe they will go home the way they came. Can't find info-I'm not on FB. Thanks!
They left this morning and from what I heard it was heading to St. Paul.
@@jefftoft5568 Thank you for answering! We drove to Iowa, headed north as close to the river as possible, and were able to find the Empress. Followed it to Dubuque-really fun day!

Possibly the first time in at least 60 years a steam locomotive has moved light on the mainline!
In this case, it was on an industrial track. A main line with slow speeds and not the first time to this area. We have had quite a few Thanks for watching.

I won’t be, I’m heading to Galesburg for railroad days. But what I’ve heard it’s leaving on Monday. They will probably head back from Silvis on Sunday then prep it to leave Monday.
