Thank you for being one of the 1/3 of riders who actually pay to ride the bus. (According to KGO-TV in San Francisco.)

NYC also has a similar issue with fare evasion.

The Muni Metro Light Rail looks so modern, clean, and spacious, and it runs efficiently. 👍 Good info about the fare app, platform 9:06 and pedestrian median 10:48! You're always so helpful in creating these informative public transportation videos during your the travels! 😎 Thank you for sharing this relaxing light ride ride, AK! 🤗🚃

They got a pretty good transportation system out there in San Francisco. Light Rail and subway from the Brat trains.

Great, realistic, real-time video. Thank you for highlighting the Muni Mobile app. I am local, a native, a frequent Muni rider, and a fan -- but I am critical about the "user experience" for new riders, particularly out-of-town visitors.
I'm always answering questions from perplexed tourists about how to pay for the system, particularly on the Metro.

In both New York and San Francisco you can take an N train to the ocean! I hope you got to the end of the line on another ride. SF is really a great city for public transportation. Thanks.

I’ve been on the Muni Metro and I thought it was pretty nice. It’s a light rail on surface, but converts into a metro underground (and vice versa), which is the coolest part.

I grew up riding this route when I would visit my dad(RIP) in SF. I still remember riding the old school streetcars before they built the subway underneath Market St.
(EDIT: The last train leaves downtown around 12:30 am. The first one is around 5 am on weekdays,6 am on Saturday and 8 am on Sunday. They run buses when the trains aren't running.)

ooh the MUNI mobile app looks really nice, so do these new trains, really nice interiors. MUNI seems like a nice system and a great supplement to BART, which seems to act more like a Regional Rail than a local subway.

The MUNI ticket system in SF is convenient when using a clipper card or transit card on a mobile phone. MUNI has a 90-minute transit period. It's for passengers to change routes or buses during the 90-minute journey. It can also work this way: pay for the one-way ticket, and the return is free if it takes less than 90 minutes. I tap every time, and the transaction history on my phone for the return marks transit and is free for less than 90 minutes.

Where you started the video at Irving/9th is right in front of Arizmendi, one of the best cheap bakeries in the city. You can get enough bread and pastries to feed two people for less than $15. A whole whole wheat country loaf is less than $6, and its of an incredible quality. Their tomato and cheese focaccia rounds are absolutely delicious, and so are their chocolate chunk cookies. Great california style sourdough pizza too.

Florida like that too! when I move here 7 year ago from my hometown Brooklyn ny the bus would take an hours to come! but then months later they change it to every 30 mins now. and last stop for the bus I'm at 6 so if u don't catch the bus ur screw and we don't have any trains here just bus u would then need lift Uber or taxic o and if u decide to move to fl u must k ow how to drive cuse every mad far not like ny

In my area in Florida buses arrive every 1-2 hours with no service on Sundays and certain holidays. They also don’t run late hours and they STILL get stuck in traffic. Basically most of Florida is car-dependent.

Even cable cars stop at stop signs downhill. They can't stop uphill because they need to hold onto the cable. At Hyde and Clay, northbound cable cars don't have to stop and there are signs warning drivers on the other three sides.

i don't even understand country that have tram in middle of the road, because in my country it have car motorcycle on the road and electric railway on skybridge and underground, maybe if it have tram on the road or great transportation, it might be help traffic jam a lot in my country.

I'm an old man who isn't tech savvy, but I don't see how you pay with the app. I saw the one guy swipe the Clipper card when he got on, but I didn't see AK do anything with his smart phone when he got on the train. I don't know if I'll ever travel again, but if I do, San Francisco is one place I would like to go to again, especially the see the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and out to Land's End and the Cliff House.

In Europe, we call such a metro tram. 😜This system with different platform heights is wrong. High platforms should be lowered and trams should be lowfloor.

Um, obviously people writing comments below are clueless about Muni. Muni service in SF runs on average 8 mph. Trains and stations can be filthy and smell of urine and excrement. Schedules are unreliable with two trains often coming within a few minutes of each other, sometimes you wait for over 1/2 and hour. I mistakingly sat in a seat that someone had vomited on. Lots of homeless people and druggies. People who think SF has a good transit system are delusional and may want to visit cities like Berlin, Madrid, Singapore or Jakarta to see what a third world country SF has become.
