He's talking about his wife in the first verse, in the choruses I think the 'they' could be record companies/music industry, media etc. Verse 2 sounds like he's talking about both, and then first half of verse 3 it sounds like he's talking about the media's obsession with him stepping out of the spotlight etc. 2nd half is more like just a general philosophical message about life.
