- Most of our calves hit the ground and are up and sucking within an hour of life. Jellyfish is not most calves. She is determined in spite of adversity and has an innate dramatic flair.

Get that calf some selenium!
Calf was cold, surprised it wasn't under your bed or in it. 😊😊😊😊😊
Horse owners sometimes do want is called the madagin squeeze on foals. That’s in addition to anything else the vet recommends.
I’ve seen a lot of cattle guys do it too, never have tried to do it myself yet but isn’t it often used for a lethargic calf/foal with no suck reflex? This calf had plenty of try and suck reflex, just no coordination.
Great work ❤
Selenium and dextrose
I don’t think the calf got enough colostrum from its mother.
I tubed it colostrum when it couldn’t get up quickly.
What does your veterinarian say?
The vet says to do what we’ve done. Should have had selenium to her but didn’t have any on hand.
Keep them in a pen til calf if stronger! Call your Vet!! Calf needs some Vitamins etc!
Yup did that.
This was ridiculous! It is like a game to her. She is totally irresponsible and unable to provide appropriate care to the calf!
@@songbirds3712 I do this for a living. This is pretty standard procedure and actually a great outcome for what could have happened.
Stop dissing the owners you cannot make judgements on a short video.
#1 Pump the mothers milk, and feed the calf. She only has colostrum for a short time. #2 Call vet. #3 film if and only if she is Ok.
1# I keeled bagged colostrum on hand and had already fed the calf within 4-ish hrs of birth(later than I prefer) she is fine…..did u not see the end of the video?
Call your Vet!!!!She needs some nutrition, vitamins etc!!!
@@barefootviewsI watched the end of the video and she is NOT okay. It boggles my mind that you are unable to secure kapok and calf in a stall until the calf is sure-footed and has been seen by a vet!
@@songbirds3712 the vets not going to do more than I have done, I am on a first name basis with my vet. The calf is currently running and playing and getting on fine in a pen with 50+ other calves.
I WAS GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING. STOP FILMING LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE MOM'S MILK. GET THAT BABY FED. !!
This is cruel!! 😅Poor baby did not get enough colostrum. For heaven’s sake, put mama and babe in a well-bedded stall. Call the vet. Continue to hold calf to milk. Stop making jokes about the situation. The calf seems to possibly have some neurological issues. Turn off the camera and take care of the problems.
Calf got tubed a full dose of colostrum, the vet recommends me do what I have done. I’m filming while I work, so sorry that seems to annoy you. 🙄
