In Japan, beef, especially Kobe or Matsusaka wagyu, are much more expensive than seafood, which are pretty common there as it is an island nation. They ARE in Japan and serving what Japanese customers considered expensive. It is not a buffet in the US where expensive items have to include seafood. And by the way, this buffet is one of the most expensive hotel buffet in Tokyo. It's at the Imperial Hotel.
This is the BEST time to go to Japan. The conversion rate is almost 160 yen to a dollar. This means that you almost get 40% discount for every dollar you spent there.

Nah most vegas buffets are like $80, even at fancy hotels like wynn or bellagio. $120 is pretty pricey but it looks really good. I'd try it for sure but I'd be disappointed if it wasn't a good as it looks, like if the pekking duck skin wasn't crispy

veggies are low in calories, very nutrient dense and compliment meats. carbs such as bread, noodles and rice are the biggest wastes of valuable stomach space at a buffet.

That makes them very filling. Not a good idea to eat a lot of if you want to maximize the value of the food you're eating.

I was thinking at 10000 yen, so 19000 did surprise me. Converting it to my local currency makes it a very, very expensive dinner, but if you make a living in a country with a good currency, it is not bad for a day of fancy.

It’s supposed to be served like that and that isn’t blood. When animals are butchered they’re typically drained or blood. That juice is fat and collagen and a bit of muscle juice which is a bit red. But it’s typically not actually blood or bleeding lol
