It was actually Maury Muehleisen, Jim Croce's friend and accompanist, who did most of the really 'fancy' guitar work behind Jim's playing and singing. You will also hear him singing harmony on many tracks, especially the live recordings, as these were usually just the two of them performing for small audiences.
A very talented artist who we also lost in the same airplane crash that took Jim from us much too soon. RIP Jim and Maury. 🙏🙏🙏✝️🙏🙏🙏

Many thanks, very kind. It's a wonderful song, isn't it? Glad you like what I'm doing here :-) I'm always up for suggestions for song to cover, too, so feel free to tell me if there's something you'd like to see.

Great song and lesson but I can’t get the pinky stretch on Am/G#.

Ah yes that's one bit that's easier in the original (non-capo) key. It's all up for grabs though, and you could maybe check your fretting hand position-keep your thumb at the back and have the guitar facing outward, to give your fingers a bit more scope on the fingerboard. Not sure if you're up for tips on hand position but I've got a demonstration of that in Common Chord Changes th-cam.com/video/ErbzhAMLcf4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DmJymVM_b2bb3i__ there's a section in there that looks at adjusting the posture and hand postions. Might just buy you the extra reach you require. Otherwise, it really doesn't matter. It's always best to play what works well for you and take it slowly. Good luck!
