Even though I’m not an Arsenal fan, this really is sad news, she’ll always be an Arsenal legend. I can’t understand why they didn’t offer a new contract to one of the best strikers in world football and especially with Beth being there. 27 years old, since her move from Bayern where she won 2x Bundesliga titles, she’s scored 125 goals and provided 50 assists in 172 games in the WSL for Arsenal. She’s won the WSL, 2x FA Cup’s and 3 x League Cups. In total she’s scored 257 goals in 304 games in her senior club career. International football, she’s scored 95 goals in 118 appearances and won the European Championships in 2017. Hopefully she’ll stay in the WSL as it would be a massive blow to the league and especially with Beth here too. I’d absolutely love her at Liverpool, it would be a monster signing for us. 🇳🇱
If she's leaving because Arsenal won't offer her a new contract, that is both despicable behaviour and bad business on the part of Arsenal's management. You don't treat a legend like that.
insane move on their part, unfortunately common in the women's game. Same reason Russo left Utd, she was an amazing player and their star striker and they messed her around with the contact. Hopefully with the league getting stronger players will have more leverage over clubs as in the mens game.

Jonas and the club letting her go is absolute *insanity*... even as a Man City fan who would be thrilled to see her there, especially knowing she's been wanting to be more in midfield, but this is just a mystifying move on Arsenal's part to let the league's LEADING GOAL SCORER GO! She chose to stay at Arsenal last contract! And for them to just let her go now! WOW...
Letting her go is a big mistake.
here in Spain they are saying her replacement is Mariona Caldentey from Barça, who is a fantastic player. But just not as good as Viv at her best though, because no-one is.
I can hardly even watch Viv's farewell video! Look at her eyes! They are so incredibly sad! No joy at all! To be thrown away by a club that she put on the map, in women's football has got to be devastating! This will come back to bite Arsenal!

Simple fact is that if her and Beth are still a couple then she won't want to go abroad. Don't be surprised if she goes to Chelsea.

No matter how much we disagree with Emma hayes she remains a respected coach for her players She make sure to give Fran and Marian the farewell they deserve
even with Sam kerr who has the same injury and Chelsea has 3 other strikers and they did not abandon her that's the big difference also in the Club's vision
I’d get rid of Jonas and keep Viv honestly - they massively underwhelmed this season given the talent they have - his style of football does no favors for our best players like Russo as well
She's beefing with the manager. He doesn't like her and has been very unsupportive of her during her injuries

If this is a decision that is rooted in faith in Jonas' system, which could never fully figure out a place for Miedema, I'm not sure if this decision will pay off, we haven't really done better this season compared to last season when we had so many injuries and a threadbare squad, idk what there is to show for in terms of progress. Also regardless of that, they couldn't offer her an year long extension? Really?
Pls don't go to other WSL club. Go Lyon, PSG, Wolfsburg, everywhere else but not other WSL!!!

@metube9541 she should be reported to the FA for bringing the game into disrepute by claiming to be a professional who plays for Arsenal, when she wouldn't even get into Arsenal u15s boys, and plays in a team of deluded frauds who also claim to play for Arsenal. You can't just make a team, call it Arsenal, play at u13s boys level, and claim to be part of Arsenal Football Club. The same way I can't pick up a guitar and claim to be part of The Beatles.
