- When its on... Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast is known as a long, fast, hollow bazza that gets you pitted for days. It's also know for the mass crowd of punters for as far as the eye can see, all hassling for a taste. On a small day it's still fun...with a moderate spattering of frother's. One of the biggest frother's out there was Dogman.
Check out the boards here: deepoceanboard...

switch hands with your paddle dog man!
I still don't get sup'n...just use a longboard!
SUP is way more fun than a longboard. I've surfed a shortboard 30+ years and I mostly SUP now. No I'm not old, unfit, weekend warrior etc. With a pro SUP model 8'0" I can do tighter turns than most shortboards + crazy flow and get into the waves super early. Having the paddle means you can lean off the board and recover from crazy angles. I agree most SUPer's are muppets, but then again so are most regular surfers these days. You just need the right SUP and know how to ride it.
Long board is pretty boring in comparison. Doesn't turn like an 8 foot SUP ... can cross step on a SUP or surf it more like a short board. Can see waves earlier, get into waves earlier and with the extra float (more than a long board of the same length) can get a longer ride and paddle through fatter sections. Can paddle up the beach to next peak if it gets crowded or tide changes or the next one, or sit between 2 well spaces banks and because of the extra padfle speed pick off both the lefts and rights as they come through. paddle out to a bombie.... and if it's flat just cruise around the headland.
Only Dogman can ride through snapper fin first! Classic...
The coolest guy on the wave!
Stand up paddles need to be purged
