Same, I got all the Stronghold games on my steam. Stronghold 2 was a very big letdown for me however. Never expected Firefly to drop such a pile of shit.
Awesome guide! This prompted me to start over again, even though I had no idea what I was doing at first. People starved, and no one wanted to come to my village. One time, I ran out of logs and had no log mill. I was overrun by an army of 200, but my men of 16 died quickly.
1:28 and already two false information. 1. You do not need a logging camp to get firewood. It is a totally different resource chain. 2. You can not upgrade stone. You could iron/Clay (well the mine, not the resource vain...). But you need a perk for that and then the resource is infinite... (and it has to be a rich resource) 3. While writing the comment already I can see he is starting farming when he does not have the manpower for that and even the game tells you to wait for that... Use barries and hunting and the beginning.
Yeah I stopped the video when he plopped down a farm. I have like 5 hours in this game and even I already know better. Let's build a farm when all our peeps are still homeless. 🤣

I'm surprised how few people mention Caesar 3. ML, in my opinion, is the 2020's spiritual successor to Caesar 3, not Total War. There are of course some additional mechanics, but it's more in line with that lineage of games

Played my first time of Manor Lords today, got unrecoverably viped out by the first attack of Bandits, i had 14 Archers and 13 Spear militas. Was i doing something wrong? I don't think i could have had more citizens at this point since manpower was my bottle neck here
I expanded to a new region. Fought off the Barron for the land. He took over everything too quickly. After that set up a town. Bandits came and burned everything and killed everyone. My troops took too long to get there. How do I start to rebuild there without any families. It will not let me set up a new camp. Can I send families from my first town to rebuild? What to do?

Wait so i can't get more families unless i build more houses? i'm 1 year into the game and i haven't been able to get more families wich has hindered fast progress and to make things worse ive had bandits and other units steal and declare war on me while i don't even have a military yet.
Focus on berry picking and hunting shacks maybe? Make market and sell extra meat or wood for trade? Not sure, but sounds like that is a possible way. I'm still learning the game.
if it had a bit more rpg elements sort of like the guild games, perhaps some marriage/alliance/heir system, it would be a truly great game i think. Just building and the occasional basic fighting isnt quite enough imo

Is it not an oxymoron to have a beginners guide, barely above 10 minutes long, to teach how play like a pro? I'm too old I think, because this was too quickly explained for me to be able to follow, so I'll try to find another guide, for beginners, with just the basics, but thanks for sharing 🙂
the fact we need videos like proves how completely useless the in game "tutorial" actually is. it baffles me how RTS devs keep trying to "automate" everything in these games, I want to be able to actually select a villager and order them to build/collect something not have this simple feature hidden behind dozens of mini windows and icons. Its tedious and annoying, AoE solved this issue decades ago and yet here we are in 2024 and modern day devs don't learn.

I'm surprised how few people mention Caesar 3. ML, in my opinion, is the 2020's spiritual successor to Caesar 3, not Total War. There are of course some additional mechanics, but it's more in line with that lineage of games

Why do you need a logging camp for firewood? The woodcutter's lodge chops its own trees down...
I think that’s how it use to be, the loggers did firewood and logs instead of having its own thing. From what I have seen others saying atleast
You need the logging camp to produce timber, thus allowing you to construct other buildings.

I couldn’t upgrade some of my houses to Level 3 even though I had the required resources… not sure if this was bug or I’m missing something.
