- Lawig Festival - A Colorful Festival Meaning to "Sail On!"
Every year during December 2, there is a festival held in the town of Palompon, Leyte in the Philippines to celebrate the feast of Saint Francis Xavier.
Since the town of Palompon is a coastal town, they are celebrating Lawig Festival asking for good fishing harvest and good weather from the patron saint. Contestants of different parts of the town join as they do the street dancing competition with their colorful costumes.
