Until the Legacy trains get phased out, they are always going to have a combination of Westinghouse 1436B DC (chopper) and Adtranz 1507C 3-phase AC (IGBT-VVVF) motors; the IGBT-VVVF being heard on carriages with 4-digit numbers and also much louder and clearer than the choppers.

My favorite station! Haven't been there in a long time but I see it's doing well.

Ive never been to San-Francisco, and I hope you don't mind me asking, but whats up with the different train lengths and door counts. Also, why do so many trains call it short at Daly city rather than going to the airport or something :)

      1. Sometimes after rush hour, trains will split in half during non-peak times rather than just get a new train from a yard, which is less efficient.
      2. Only the new trains show this on their displays, but this is because there are different lines. The green and blue lines terminate at Daly City, while the red and yellow lines go past there. If you look at a BART map you can see the lines.
