I have both devices. There must be something wrong with your A72 (maybe settings?), as in reality one can't really tell the difference between the two when it comes to photos and videos. Samsung A72 is an outstanding phone with some seriously powerful cameras. At a price of 430 euros in Europe, the choice between the two is pretty straightforward.
Tbh it even more unfair because he obviously didn't turn the super steady mode on of the Samsung, trust me the Samsung's one is really stable just like the iPhone's.

A72 cost $500, the cheapest you could find is probably $450. A72 is a midrange phone, not a budget one. I understand your point, but be objective and don't downgrade.
I think a fairer comparison would be the A72 vs the iPhone XR. The 128GB is $550 and preforms pretty much identical to the 11. Despite being 2.5 years old it has many years of updates left compared to the A72 you know Samsung will drop support after like a year or so. Also those midrange specs will age like milk on a demanding OS like Android.
